Empties Vol. 6 + Mini Reviews

So these are my recent empties with their mini reviews.

  1. Nivea Oil in Lotion Rose & Argan Oil – Nivea recently launched 3 new variants in its body lotion and this was one of them. I really liked this lotion and this is already my 3rd bottle 😛 The lotion is neither thin nor thick, spreads and absorbs super easily and provides long lasting nourishment. The fragrance is amazing and smells not exactly like roses but of rose+ nivea’s signature fragrance mixed. I will definitely repurchase this. (Price: Rs 390 for 400 ml)

2. Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 840 Genius in the Bottle – Catrice cosmetics is a European makeup brand which was available in select stores in India few years back. I got this nailpolish from the Guardian pharmacy shop in DLF Promenade, Delhi and fell head over heels in love with this shade the moment I spotted it. 840 Genius in the Bottle is a gorgeous multichrome golden-olive-brown color with slight pearl effects. The shift in color is stunning and the color looks olive/gold/bronze depending on the light. Too bad I didn’t get to wear it as often as I would’ve liked before it expired and now I can’t find this brand anywhere in India. This shade Genius in the bottle is said to be a dupe of Chanel ‘Peridot’. Swatch at the end of this post.

See some other duochrome polishes reviewed on the blog HERE.

3. Chambor Dazzle Eye pencil Purple Dazzle – This is my most fav eyeliner color and I always always have a backup of this product. Purple Dazzle shade is a gorgeous blackish purple color with purple microglitter. If you love purple eye products, definitely check this one out. Read full review + Swatch in THIS post. (Price: Rs 645)

4. Forest Essentials Ultra Rich Body Lotion Indian Rose Absolute – Forest Essentials’ products rarely disappoint me (the rare exceptions being THIS recently launched lip care product and Aloe Water in THIS post). The Body lotion is amazing – texture wise, nourishment wise and fragrance wise. It is slightly runny and smells heavenly and truly of roses. This is a travel sized product and I already have another same product as part of gift set. I like to keep this in my handbag and use it as Hand cream. It provides instant nourishment and a burst of  beautiful fragrance. (Price: Rs 350 for 50 ml/ 1275 for 200 ml)

5. FabIndia Facial Water RoseWow! I didn’t realize that 3 out of 5 products in this post are rose scented. This is a mere coincidence 😀 So I got this rose facial water from FabIndia a while back and now I think they have revamped the packaging. It has spray pump and I like to spray it on my face in sweltering summer months or mix it in my ubtans/face pack. This is a decent rose water in budget range. (Price: Rs 290 for 100 ml)

Loreal Paris Color Riche Le Smokey Eyeliner: Purple dream ~ Review & Swatch

L’Oreal launched Color Riche Le Smokey range of eyeliner pencils last year in 8 shades and I am reviewing a beautiful purple color- Purple Dream 211 in this post.

L’Oreal has another great eyeliner in gel form. Check it HERE

Price: Rs 650 for 1.2 g

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smokey eyeliner Purple Dream review

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smokey eye pencil is a double ended wooden pencil with eyeliner at one end and the smudger at the other end. Both the ends of the pencil are fitted with transparent, plastic caps which can be interchanged. The color of the eyeliner pencil is coordinated with the eyeliner shade making it easier to sort if you have multiple shades from this range. The design and gold detailing gives a classy touch to the packaging, but the gold detailing starts to fade after sometime.

Purple Dream is a blackish purple color which looks amazing on brown eyes. I can’t get enough of purple eyeliners. I feel green and purple look best on brown eyes. (I have reviewed my fav green eyeliner HERE ). L’Oreal Color Riche Le Smokey eye pencils are soft and creamy and glides easily. It does not tug or pull on the eyelids. These are intensely pigmented and one need not swipe multiple times for better color. One swipe gives full coverage. These are matte eyeliners. When I apply this on waterline as kohl, it does not sting or makes my eyes dry.

The smudger has dome shaped sponge tip which is decent and does an excellent job in smudging to create a smokey look.  However, these eyeliners are not smudge proof and do smudge when rubbed. At the end of the day half the pigmentation fades off, whether worn as eyeliner or kohl. The smudging is more if you have hooded eyes or oily eyelids.

This is a long pencil and quantity is sufficient. But it needs to be sharpened which leads to product wastage.

Overall, L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smokey eyeliner pencil Purple Dreams is a beautiful blackish purple eyeliner with a smudger at the other end. It is highly pigmented and easy to apply but it is not smudge proof. Also, this needs to be sharpened which leads to product wastage. This is not smudge proof and it will smudge especially if you have hooded eyes and oily eyelids. I will probably not repurchase this as I like retractable eyeliners with smudge proof finish.
