Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel : Wild Card ~ Review & Swatch

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range is one of the few nailpolish range which I fell head over heels in love with. I have already reviewed a beautiful coral pink color ‘Lady LuckHERE, and in this post I am reviewing the shade ‘Wild Card‘ which is my most fav blue color.

Price: Rs 460 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Wild Card Review

  • Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear range comes in a sturdy cylindrical glass bottle with long black cap (similar to its Colorstay range which now is discontinued). The shade name is stickered on top of the cap.
  •  The brush is amazing and helps in hassle free application. The brush is long, flat and double-barrel with tapered corners which helps in mess-free application especially around edges and cuticles.
  • Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel are very richly pigmented and gives full color in single swipe.
  • The consistency is creamy and slightly thick than usual nailpolish which makes it longer to dry.
  • The shade Wild Card is a gorgeous cobalt blue color. This is quite a vibrant and bright color which make the nails pop, and it is hard not to notice such a vivid color on someone. I myself saw this color on SA, after which I couldn’t resist buying it.
  • It has a glossy finish which starts to fade after 2-3 days.
  • This is not a quick drying nailpolish and takes quite a while to dry completely. Even after it has ‘set’ you can end up with fabric marks. I was able to put a dent in it with my nail even after 2 days (This could also be because my nailpolish is bit old now).
  • Coming to the Longwear claim, it stayed put for 2-3 days after which it started to chip, especially on my dominant hand.
  • It is quite pricey but the quantity is more and the formula is different from average nailpolish. Also, this is mostly on discount on some or the other e-commerce platform.
  • I have never had a proper gel manicure in a salon, but compared to any other drugstore faux-line of gel polish I have tried, these win hands down! These are highly glossy when freshly applied.
  • Being a vibrant and bright color, the shade Wild Card will suit fair to medium skin tones.
  • This is an unusual and super gorgeous shade of blue, and if you are a blue nailpolish fan like me, do check this one out. I am sure you too will end up buying it  😀

Kiko Power Pro Special Nail Lacquer : 94 Mermaid Pink ~ Review & Swatch

Kiko has an amazing nail polish collection and it keeps launching new limited edition makeup range every now and then. So after the Glitter Metal range and Holographic range of nailpolish, I am reviewing the recently launched Power Pro Special Nail lacquer collection in the shade 94 Mermaid Pink. Only two colors were launched in the ‘Special’ range and the other one is 95 Mermaid Violet.

Price: Rs 550 for 11 ml

Shelf life: 3 years

Kiko Power Pro Special Nail Lacquer 94 Mermaid Pink Review

  • Kiko Milano Power Pro nail lacquer comes in rounded cuboidal glass packaging with double cap. The outer rounded square cap removes to reveal an easy grip striated brush cap. Kiko Milano logo is engraved on top of both the caps.
  • Shade number is written at the back on the peel off sticker booklet. Kiko doesnot write shade names, but only numbers on their products.
  • The brush is amazing. It is larger than normal ones, densely packed with rounded edge and follows the shape of nails without staining the skin. The brush helps a lot in fast and mess-free application.
  • Consistency of Power Pro Special nail lacquer is neither thick, nor runny and pigmentation is slightly sheer. The normal Power Pro nail polish, however, has slightly creamy texture and insanely rich pigmentation. The ‘Special’ nailpolish being slightly sheer, it takes 2-3 coats for full opacity.
  • Like almost all Kiko Milano nailpolish, Power Pro nail lacquer dries really fast.
  • The shade Mermaid Pink 94 is a beautiful light peach-pink color with two toned pearlescent effect, similar to the effect of mother of pearl. There is a slight shift in color to purple which looks beautiful.
  • I don’t think the shade is VERY extraordinary (unlike THIS shade by Kiko), and an Indian dupe I could think of is shade ‘Pink Pony’ from Nykaa’s Unicorn Potion collection.  Maybelline Colorshow also has a faintly similar color (sans the pearl effect)- Pink Voltage. Both these dupe shades are cool toned, whereas Mermaid Pink by Kiko Milano is bit warm toned. Also, Kiko one has a unique pearlescent effect.
  • Wear time is 4-5 days without chipping, which is impressive.
  • This is bit expensive but the quantity is big.
  • The shade Mermaid Pink 94 has a unique elegance and can be carried off by women of all age groups. It will suit fair to medium skintones.

In the swatches below, I have worn it in 3 coats without any base color. In one of the pics I have used it as top coat over different base colors.

Base colors used (Left- Right): Kiko Power Pro 26, no base color, Kiko Power Pro 12, Kiko Power Pro11.

Kiko Glitter Metal Nail Lacquer: 002 Review & Swatch

I am a big fan of Kiko products, particularly their nailpolish which are amazing. I have many Kiko nailpolish (a part of which are shown HERE). Glitter Metal was a limited edition collection and I couldn’t take my eyes off this beautiful shade when I saw it. Kiko Glitter metal in shade 002 is too pretty not to buy.

A recent limited edition is their gorgeous Holographic nailpolish (reviewed HERE), which is the first true holographic nailpolish to get hold of in India.

Price: Rs 560 for 10 ml

Kiko Glitter Metal Nail Lacquer 002 review

  • Kiko Glitter Metal nail lacquer comes in exact same packaging as the Holographic collection (HERE). The bottle is round with removable black cap and separate brush cap.
  • Shade number and other details are at the back in form of peel off booklet (which has 6 pages btw!)
  • The brush is short and decently wide with rounded edges which helps in easy application especially around cuticles.
  • Consistency is slightly runny and pigmentation is good. It goes opaque in 2 coats.
  • It dries fast with almost no waiting time in between coats.
  • Kiko Glitter Metal nailpolish in shade 002 is a beautiful light pink-mauve color with heavy gold microglitter. It looks soft gold color with hints of pink and mauve. The gold microglitter has slightly blue holo effect and the overall color on nail appears duochrome. The blue holo is more visible in the bottle.
  • The glitter is not big and chunky. This is a subtle nailpolish color which is not too in-your-face. It is toned down shade than regular gold/metallic nailpolish colors.
  • Wear time is 4-5 days without chipping.
  • This is bit expensive but the quantity is big. Also, the shade is one of a kind which you will not find in other Indian brands.
  • The shade 002 has a unique elegance and can be carried off with women from all age groups. It will suit all Indian skintones.

Check another duochrome nailpolish which is easier on pocket  HERE

see the holo effect?

Overall, Kiko Glitter Metal nail lacquer comes in round glass bottle with two caps. The brush is short but wide enough to pick the right amount of nailpolish. The brush edges is rounded which helps in easy and mess-free application. The consistency is thin and pigmentation is good. It builds to full color in 2-3 coats. Shade 002 is a beautiful pink-mauve color with heavy gold microglitter. The glitter is not in-your-face and has holographic effect, which makes it look duochrome on nails. This is a subtle shade and will suit all Indian skintones, across all age groups. Must buy if you can get hold of it. The only con is that it is bit pricey.

Pssst, if you are looking for rose gold nailpolish, THIS is the shade to have.

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nailpolish: Silver Glimmer ~ Review & Swatch

I have been a fan of Kiko and Maybelline nailpolish and I don’t have many Lakme nailpolish. It never occurred to me to check out Lakme’s nailpolish collection, until recently when I spotted a beautiful rose gold shade among many other shades in display. After trying the rose gold shade  (which will be reviewed soon), I purchased a couple more shades after a few days. Silver Glimmer shade is a recent purchase which I am reviewing in this post. I have many silver looking nailpolish (like THIS and THIS one) but I didn’t have a proper silver shade. This is my first true silver nailpolish.

Price: Rs 400 for 15 ml

Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist nail polish Silver Glimmer Review

Lakme Absolute gel nailpolish come in a big cylindrical glass bottle with long matte black cap. The shade name is stickered along the side of cap and price is written at bottom. The brush is wide but straight (not rounded like THESE) which makes the application uneven especially around the curve of nails. The brush picks up enough nailpolish to cover entire nail in one stroke.

As the name suggests, Silver Glimmer is a beautiful silver color nailpolish with silver microshimmer. Silver is an evergreen color which can be rocked in Spring as well as Fall, on traditional as well as western attire, as everyday color or in functions. Lakme Absolute Gel nailpolish in shade Silver Glimmer has mini holographic glitter which is more visible in the bottle and adds an overall beautiful effect on the nails. The added shimmer makes this a dazzling color. Metallic colors like silver tend to be streaky, but Silver Glimmer being a shimmer polish, hides the streaks.

The texture is neither too liquid nor too creamy. The pigmentation is amazing and the color goes opaque in 2 coats.

If you are not a fan of true silver color but still want a similar color, check THIS nailpolish by Colorbar.

This nailpolish takes a bit effort to remove because of glitter in it.

Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml).

Lasts for 4-5 days without chipping and the shine tends to dull after around 4 days.

Overall, Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist in shade Silver Glimmer is a true silver color nailpolish with shimmer and minute holographic glitter. The shimmer makes this a dazzling color, different from normal metallic finish. The consistency is between liquid and creamy and pigmentation is good. It goes opaque in two coats. Wear time is ok, 4-5 days. One thing which could have been better is the brush. The brush is long but straight and makes the application messy around the curve of nail. Price is on high side but the quantity is also more, so it will last a really long time. If you are fond of silver colors, do give this one a try.

Colorbar Luxe Nail Lacquer ~ Heroine : Review, Swatch

Colorbar cosmetics recently revamped its entire nailpolish collection and I picked up a few shades. All the nailpolish range now have same packaging and some of the previous shades (like 24 ct collection or heavy metal collection) have been branded as ‘Arteffects range. I have already reviewed the following shades:

Snow White (2nd shade in pic above)- beautiful off-white color with heavy shimmer

Pinken Gold – gorgeous duochrome orange-pink color

Liquid Gold – unique antique bronze color

In this post I am reviewing a deep red color- Heroine (first one in pic above).

Price: Rs 250 for 12 ml

Colorbar Luxe Nail Lacquer Heroine Review

Colorbar Luxe nail lacquer comes in  thick, cube glass bottle with short brush. The nailpolish bottle looks attractive but feels heavy and bulky and takes up more space in stacking.  The brush cap is silver colored with ‘CB’ logo embossed on top. The shade name and other details are stickered at the bottom. The brush is short and wide and slightly rounded which helps in clean application.

Heroine is a beautiful deep red color with fainbrown tones. This is not a vibrant but mature kind of red, and looks absolutely gorgeous when applied. This shade is perfect for fall. It  The pigmentation is good and needs 2 coats for full opacity. One coat looks vibrant cherry red (similar to THIS Chambor nailpolish) and second coat gives the deeper color. The consistency is creamy and application is uniform and non streaky. The finish is glossy and it dries quick.

Unfortunately, the wear time is not so impressive. The Arteffects range is more long lasting than this. Tip wear started after 2 days and proper chipping started after 4 days. Pricewise it is okay for the quantity.

Overall, Colorbar Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which looks attractive but feels bulky. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is creamy and pigmentation is good. It needs 2 coats for full color build up. Finish is glossy. The shade Heroine is a beautiful deep red color which will suit all skin tones.  This nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The only con is the wear time as it starts to chip after 3-4 days.

Colorbar Arteffects Nail Lacquer : Pinken Gold ~ Review & Swatch

Source

Colorbar has rebranded the previous 24 ct range of nailpolish as Arteffects range and I have a few shades of the 24 ct range with me. I have already reviewed a gorgeous bronze gold shade- Liquid Gold HERE and in this post I am reviewing my favorite shade of the collection- Pinken Gold.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Pinken Gold Review

Colorbar has standardized the nailpolish packaging and you won’t find any of the previous cuboidal packaging at the counters now. The pics below are of old packaging. The new packaging is thick, cube glass bottle which feels heavy (same as in THIS review). The brush is short and stout but wide to pick enough product for 1 coat application. The shade name is stickered at the bottom. Being a bit heavy and huge, it takes up more space in storage than the previous packaging..

Pinken gold is a beautiful dark pink color with gorgeous orange duochrome effect. It has gold and pink microshimmer which gives an added depth to this beautiful color. The consistency is sheer in 1 coat and takes 2-3 coats for full opacity, depending on the thickness of coats you apply.  It dries fast and there is no waiting time in between multiple coats application. Pinken Gold is a one of its kind shade with prominent duochrome effect. If you are fond of pink colors, do check this one. The shade is quite different and unique from other shades in Indian market.  This nailpolish will suit all skin tones.

Wear time for this nailpolish is good and tip wear starts after 2-3 days  (without top coat) on my dominant hand. Proper chipping sets in after 5-6 days. Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle (12 ml) so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml).

There are many naipolish in market claimed to have duochrome effect. But if you want true duochrome action, this is the nailpolish to look for.

Overall, Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which feels bulky and heavy compared to Colorbar’s previous packaging. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is sheer and needs 3 coats for full coverage. Price wise, this nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The shade Pinken Gold is a gorgeous pink color with orange duochrome effect. It has pink and golden microglitter which adds a subtle depth to the color.  It lasts 5-6 days with tip wear setting after 2-3 day (without top coat). It will suit all Indian skin tones. You don’t get to see true duochrome shades in Indian market and this one is worth the buy. I will definitely repurchase.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel : Lady Luck ~ Review & Swatch

I have two range of Revlon nailpolish with me, one smaller packaging (THIS) and other Colorstay Gel Envy range which has been one of my favorite since it launched in 2014 (i think) and in this post I am reviewing a very beautiful shade- Lady Luck.

Price: Rs 460 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range is exactly similar in packaging to its Colorstay range (which now is discontinued). It comes in a sturdy cylindrical bottle with long black cap. The shade name is stickered on top of the cap. The brush is amazing, and contrary to brush of THIS nailpolish range, Colorstay range has an amazing double-barrel brush which is longflat with tapered corners. It helps in hassle free application, especially around edges and cuticles.

The pigmentation of these nailpolish is quite rich and gives full pigmentation in single swipe. The consistency is slightly thick than usual nailpolish which makes it longer to dry. Also, it is streaky in one coat so you need to apply 2 coats for a leveled finish.

The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which borders on being neonish. In the bottle it appears to have a golden sheen but on the nails it is hardly noticeable. This is a creamy nailpolish with glossy finish. It is quite difficult to photograph true coral color and the swatches below fail to capture it. This is a bright color which make the nails pop, making it perfect for summers.

Coming to the Longwear claim, it stayed put for 2-3 days after which I started to see slight tip wear, especially on my dominant hand. Proper chipping started after 5-6 days, which is okay. It is quite pricey but the quantity is more and the formula is different from average nailpolish.

I have never had a proper gel manicure in a salon, but compared to any other drugstore faux-line of gel polish I have tried, these win hands down!

Being a bright color, the shade Lady Luck will suit fair to medium skin tones. Dusky skin beauties may want to steer clear as it makes the skin color look a tad darker.

Overall, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel are richly pigmented, giving full coverage in single swipe. They get streaky in single swipe but levels off with another coat. The packaging is sturdy, cylindrical bottle with a long, tapered brush which is easy to work with. The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which is quite bright and borders on being neonish, making it perfect for summers. It stays put for 2-3 days after which tip wear sets in. Chipping starts after 5-6 days. This is a bit pricey nailpolish but the finish and consistency and quality is top notch. Being a bright color, Lady Luck shade will suit fair to medium skin tones.
