Empties Vol. 2 + Mini reviews

Here is my recent empties in one post. I have linked some of the products to their full review.

  1. Dove Purely Pampering Almond cream and hibiscus body lotion: I really liked this body lotion and I have already bought another variant from this range- Invigorating ritual body lotion. Almond cream and hibiscus variant is so good for dry skin. It is super emollient and spreads easily. The skin is instantly moisturized and a small quantity goes a long way. This is perfect for winters and dry skinned people should buy this without hesitation. I will definitely repurchase this once my current one gets over (Price 395 for 400 ml).

2. Lakme Absolute Makeup remover: I have been using Maybelline makeup remover since forever and switched to this one recently. The packaging is spray packaging and does its job decently. Now I keep switching between this and Maybelline (Price: Rs 275 for 60 ml).

3. Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli SPF 25: This is my Holy Grail for summers and humid months. For winters this will feel a tad dry but this is amazing and perfect for summers for dry skin beauties. Read the full review HERE.

4. The Body Shop Strawberry Body Puree:  I got this as part of gift set and honestly I couldn’t wait to finish it up. I didn’t like it and kept it in my bag as hand cream. This is a bit sticky for my liking and I am not a fan of the fragrance. The shower gel of this range, on the other hand, is amazing.

5. Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & SaffronI LOVE this night cream and I cannot say it enough. This variant is for dry skin and I am going to repurchase this when my current night cream gets over. Read the full review HERE.

6. Forest Essentials Aloe Vera Juice: I got this on the insistence of SA mainly to mix with serums and ubtans. This was an okay product, easily dupable and nothing extraordinary. Will not repurchase (Price: Rs 550 for 100 ml).

7. Colorbar Black Fiesta nail polish: You know that I have a thing for nail arts and this nailpolish started the graffiti nail polish trend in India. Unfortunately, this range is now discontinued so I had to quickly grab one wherever I could find. It is now unavailable on Colorbar counters so I bought from Amazon. Read full review HERE.

8. Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser: : I loved this face wash and honestly it took me forever to finish this one bottle. I will definitely repurchase this but not just yet as I want to try other cleansers before I go back to this one. Read full review HERE

9. Sally Hansen Extra Strength Nail polish Remover: This is a fairly big bottle for its price and Sally Hansen is a well known brand so I picked this bottle from Westside when I saw this. However, I did not like this as it takes too much time in removing nailpolish. Will not repurchase. (Price: Rs 275 for 236.5 ml)

10. The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body MilkThis is another product meant for summers. I did not like this body lotion as it was not moisturizing enough for my dry skin. Plus I am not fan of spray packaging for body lotions. Read my full review HERE.

Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron Review

I swear by Forest Essentials products and after reviewing the Kashmiri Saffron & Neem face cleanser and  Lavender & Neroli Day cream, I am reviewing another product of my skin care regimen- Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron.

FYI, Sandalwood & Saffron variant is for dry skin

Jasmine & Patchouli is for oily skin

Price: Rs 2575 for 50 g   (updated price)

Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron Review

Forest Essentials night treatment cream comes in a plastic jar (which looks like glass btw) with beautiful golden screw cap. The golden cap makes the packaging luxurious. The plastic jar is housed in cardboard packaging with flip open lid.

The fragrance of all Forest Essential products is heavenly. It smells mildly of sandalwood which is calming especially before bedtime. The fragrance has therapeutic effect on me and helps in instant relaxation. The night cream is ivory colored with gel-cream texture. It  doesnot feel heavy on my dry skin. It melts on the skin and sinks in easily. But I would recommend oily skinned people to steer clear.

The texture feels just right on my dry skin, neither too heavy nor too light. The cream absorbs  instantly making the skin well hydrated and supple. I wake up to soft, plump, radiant and smooth skin. My skin texture has improved and skin is glowing over the months of continued usage. The quantity is sufficient and only a small amount is required. However, it doesnot work on blemishes and pigmentation even though it claims to. So, if you want something for pigmentation issues, it is useless to invest in this cream, no matter how glowy it makes your skin.

The only con I could find with Forest Essentials Sandawood & Saffron night cream is the price. It is fairly expensive but makes the skin radiant so you do see it working.

Overall, I LOVE Forest Essentials Sandalwood & Saffron night treatment cream and this is my favorite night cream so far. It smells like heaven and has calming effect. The texture is neither thick, nor thin. It melts on the skin and absorbs instantly. It doesnot feel heavy on my dry skin, but oily skinned beauties should steer clear. Forest Essentials has Jasmine & Patchouli night cream variant for oily skin which I will review later (even though I donot have oily skin :P). It provides intense hydration but never breaks me out. This night cream makes the skin supple, soft, radiant and plump. My skin texture has improved with continued usage of this cream. However, it doesnot work on pigmentation so don’t buy this especially for pigmentation concerns. Also, the price is expensive but then all Forest Essentials products are so, which is why they call it ‘Luxurious’ Ayurveda 😀 😛

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body Milk Review

I LOVE The Body Shop products and this time I tried the Moringa Softening body lotion. Read on to know how it fared on my dry skin.

Price: Rs 750 for 250 ml

Discounted price: Rs 575 for 250 ml

The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body milk review

The Body Shop Moringa body milk comes in a plastic transparent bottle with black colored spray nozzle.  The transparent bottle makes it easier to know the amount of product left in the bottle. The spray pump has a black cap making it easy and spill proof to carry. The ingredients list and other details is written at the back of the bottle.

TBS Moringa body milk is a light weight, cream colored lotion with runny consistency. The thin consistency helps in proper spraying. It has an amazing floral fragrance which is light and not overpowering. The smell lingers on for few minutes before dissipating. TBS Moringa body milk is easy to spread and absorb. It doesnot feel sticky like some other variants of The Body Shop lotions (I am looking at you, Strawberry Puree lotion). However, I feel it was bit low on moisturizing on my dry skin and I would definitely need something richer for winters. However, it was just okay for summers, providing enough hydration to the skin to not feel uncomfortable.

Now coming to the packaging, I am not a fan of spray moisturizers and TBS Moringa spray nozzle felt bit hard to use and doesn’t spray effortlessly. You have to put in some effort to spray the lotion directly on the skin. So I had to spray the lotion on my hands and then spread it on my skin. And while spraying on the hands works fine, it feels unnecessary to have spray pump especially when the lotion is so liquidy that it can be directly poured from the bottle. Plus it needs 3-4 pumps of the spray nozzle to cover one hand, which might be an issue  if you are short on time.

If you are looking for a face lotion, I HIGHLY recommend THIS product

Overall, this a lightweight lotion with amazing floral fragrance. It  gets absorbed well and doesnot leave any stickiness on the skin. But I would probably not repurchase this as I find this bit low on hydration for my dry skin. The spray mechanism feels luxurious but honestly it is not my type. I prefer simple pump dispenser/ no dispenser at all. Also the spray mechanism is quite an effort to use. But I would definitely suggest this to oily skinned people who need a bit of moisturization especially in winter months. Also, these are available at reduced prices at the moment, but for the MRP printed on the bottle, I find this a little expensive. This is a perfect body lotion for hot and humid days when you want just enough hydration minus the feeling of heaviness. This is not a MUST TRY product but oily skinned people should check this out.

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli SPF 25 : Review

Forest Essentials is my favourite brand for skin care and I love LOVE the products. One whiff of the products and it takes you to heaven! Even the fragrance inside/around the store is irresistible. I have already reviewed Forest Essentials lip balm HERE and I am reviewing another holy grail product from the brand in this post- Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli.

This Light Day Lotion is a silky light weight lotion that steeps into the skin easily leaving it soft and smooth with a non-greasy feel. It has an SPF 25 due to Yasada Bhasma, which is a natural sunscreen and an herb infused derivative offering long-lasting protection from the harsh rays of the sun leaving skin supple, toned and fresh.

Pure Lavender water, which is therapeutic and calming, nourishing Oat kernel extract and stimulating Neroli oil combined with zinc, known for its healing and regenerative qualities, to firm and clarify the skin. It also contains Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha and Gokharu along with Almond, Wheat germ and Olive oils, which not only provide nourishment but also prevent the skin from the damaging effect of free radicals.

Price: Rs 1750 for 40ml

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli SPF 25 Review

FE Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli comes in golden square shaped, plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The packaging itself screams luxury and prettifies your vanity. It comes in pump packaging with a golden lid. The bottle is sturdy, light weight and easy to travel with. However, the packaging is opaque which doesnot let you know how much product is left inside the bottle.

The texture of this lotion looks thick in consistency but it blends like a dream. One pump is sufficient for entire face. It is highly emollient and blends easily. It is non greasy and gives a matte finish making it perfect for summers. It absorbs quickly and even though it contains SPF 25, it does not leave any white cast behind. Forest Essentials Neroli and Lavender day lotion smells divine. It has a soothing fragrance of lavender. But unfortunately (fortunately for sensitive noses) the fragrance doesnot linger for long. This lotion feels just perfect, neither too heavy or nor too light for my combination skin in summers. However, I will not be using this in winters when my skin gets excessively dry.

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli contain an SPF of 25 which is always an added benefit. But you should always apply additional layer of sunscreen, preferably of higher SPF when stepping out in sun.

The only downside of this amazing product is its price. This is an expensive product but one bottle will easily last an entire season as only a tiny quantity is required every time (1 pump is sufficient for face).

Forest Essentials products are cruelty free and does not contain parabens

Overall, I will highly recommended Forest Essentials Day lotion Lavender and Neroli for oily skin/ combination skinned beauty. This product is perfect for summer months. This lotion smells heavenly and blends like a dream. It mattifies the skin and does not feel heavy. Added SPF is always a benefit. However, this is expensive. But one bottle will easily last 3 months at least. I will definitely repurchase this when it gets over.

xoxo, Blossom 🙂

Empties Vol.1

1. The Body Shop Banana shampoo: To be honest, I was quite relieved when this bottle got over. I HATED this shampoo. Even though it smelt nice, is parabens free, has the goodness of bananas etc etc, this shampoo led to massive hairfall, especially while washing. I still have the conditioner from the same range and that is not as bad as the shampoo, but I would still skip repurchasing it.

2. Maybelline Colorshow Glitter Mania Pink Champagne nailpolish: I love glitter nailpolish and Maybelline launched Glitter Mania  range a few years back. Pink Champagne is a beautiful rose pink glitter polish. You can check the swatch in THIS post.

3. Yardley Red Roses talcum powder: I love Yardley talc and I always keep repurchasing in different variants. This one smell beautifully of red roses and you should try it if you love the fragrance of rose.

4. Forest Essentials Sweet Narangi lip balm: This is a repurchase and I will keep on repurchasing it till eternity (or till they discontinue the product) 😀 This is my fav lip balm which also helps in lightening of the lips. Read the full review HERE

5.  Marks & Spencer Magnolia Hand & Body lotion: I have used coconut and cocoa butter variant of the range before and I loved it. This one was okay and not that great on my dry skin. It didn’t provide deep nourishment and left the skin feeling dry after half an hour or so. I will skip repurchasing this variant.
