Golden Polka Dots nail art

It has been a while since I last posted Nail art. I had the pics of this nail art lying and I thought to put it to better use šŸ˜›

I love polka dots nail art as they are easiest to do without much effort and look the funkiest. I have done other Polka dots nail art. Do check it HERE, HERE, HEREĀ and HERE.

This is one super simple nail art and all you need is a bobby pin/ toothpick/ dotting tool and nailpolish of your choice.

I clicked the pics after 2-3 days I did the nail art that is why you can see tip wear on my nails.

I have used Maybelline Colorshow nailpolish in shade Bold Gold.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Party Lights 118 ~ Swatch & Review

Every girl must own a few glitter polish to glamour up the nails every now and then, and Maybelline has some amazing glitter nailpolish selection. Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year in their Colorshow range. This range has gorgeous glitter shades with different color palette. I have already reviewed two shades of this range before : Tequila Sunrise (1st in pic above) and Fireworks (3rd in pic above). In this post I am reviewing another beautiful shade: Party Lights 118

Price: Rs 175 for 6 ml

Party Lights 118Ā is a beautiful silverish purple color nail polish with purple hexagonals and glitter suspended in a purple base.Ā The nailpolish has silver shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful silverish sheen making it look like foil nailpolish.Ā This nail polish isĀ loaded with the glittersĀ which remainĀ suspendedĀ and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into aĀ smooth finish. The purple glitter and hexagonals doesnot look stark against the base color like in other shades of this range. Instead, it gives a beautiful diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes inĀ cylindrical glass bottleĀ with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush isĀ decentĀ and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takesĀ 2-3 coats for full color intensityĀ as one coat is slightly sheer.

Party Lights 118 beingĀ glitter nailpolish, its removal can beĀ quiteĀ a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitterĀ polishes easily using the method I useĀ HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite okay, as I don’t expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Maybelline has another purple glitter nail polish from their Glitter Mania range. You can check the swatches HERE

Overall, this is a beautiful purple glitter nailpolish with a silverish sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2-3 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. I will probably repurchase this when this bottle gets over.

Price: Rs 175

Fireworks 114Ā is a berry pinkĀ colored nail polish with chunks of glitter. This nailpolish has magenta, black and golden micro shimmer with golden and magenta chunky hexagonals suspended in a semi transparent dark pink base. The overall color is a beautiful glittery dark pink with golden glitters. The glitters and hexagonal chunks in this nailpolish remainĀ suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. This is semi transparent Ā nailpolish in single coat and gives full opacity with 2 coats.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottleĀ with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat.

The shade is bit deeper in reality than in the swatches below.

Fireworks 114 beingĀ glitter nailpolish, its removal can beĀ quiteĀ a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitterĀ polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite ok, as I dont expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Overall, this is a beautiful deep pink glitter nailpolish which will go out with most traditional Indian outfits as they tend to have some element of red/pink in them. I will definitely repurchase this when this bottle gets over.

Nail Art: Floral

It has been a while since I posted a nail art, and this one has been sitting in my folder for sooo long. This is an easy peasy floral nail art.

I chose the color pink, but you can pair it with any color of your choice. Ā This is one of my go-to nail art when I dont want to spend much time doing it. All you need to do this nail art is a dotting tool/ bobby pin/ tooth pick and your choice of nail polish. I like to do my dots using a tooth pick as it gives more uniform dots.

Do try this nail art and link back if you like šŸ™‚

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Tequila Sunrise ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year towards the end and I have been meaning to review them on my blog ever since. This is such a stunning collection and anyone who loves glitter polish will go bonkers. I myself had to control myself from buying too many shades (I only picked 4 :P) I will review the shades I have and here I am reviewing my favorite shade from the collection : Tequila Sunrise 112Ā

Pssst!Ā My love for Glitter nailpolish can be seen HERE šŸ˜€

Price: Rs 175

Tequila Sunrise 112Ā is a beautiful rose gold-pinkish nail polish with roseĀ gold hexagonals and glitter. The nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful rose gold sheen.Ā This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottleĀ with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer, but it is high on golden shimmer so you can wear one coat also.

The shade is more golden and light pink as compared too swatches below which are more pink and less gold.

Tequila Sunrise 112Ā beingĀ glitter nailpolish, its removal can beĀ quiteĀ a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitterĀ polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite ok, as I dont expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Pop of Blue – Tribal Nail art

tribal nail art

Spring/Summer is in full bloom now and its the perfect time to flaunt them bright paws.Ā Though I do not follow this dark-for-winters or bright-for-summers thing religiously, I thought this bright, funky nail art is just perfect for this time.

I love tribal design. On clothes, on footwear, on nails- you give it to me and I will wear it happily. Actually I am on a hunt for bright funkyĀ tribal sandals for the summers. But I never seem to find the right one. Anyhoo, I hope you like my pop of blue nail art.

Actually I chose this combination of orange and blue accidentally. I wanted to wear orange nail polish and suddenly I spotted this blue one and I wanted to wear this one too. And I thought why not Ā mix ’em up and have some fun šŸ˜€

I have done tribal nail art before as well. Check it HERE. I have created the design using nail art pen. You can use an old eye liner brush as well.

Nail polish used :

Blue: Maybelline Colorshow – Blueberry Ice

Movember Moustache nail art

moustache nails

Can’t believe its November already. This year went by so fast (well this is a recurring dialogue every year, I know :D).Ā But seriously, it feels like- where did the time fly? For me the starting of winters always have mixed feelings- the happiness for the onset of my favorite season, and the sadness for another year going so fast. Don’t you ever feel we are growing so fast. Wish there was a slow down button in life as well. *Sigh*

Anyhoo, since November is here and it isĀ also the month for raising Ā awareness of men’s health issues (orĀ Movember, as it is called), I did a nail art for same. Movember (Moustache + November) is the time when men from all over the world grow facial hair in attempt to raise charity for men’s health awareness- particularly prostate and testicular cancer. Read more about it HERE.
ActuallyĀ I did not intend to make this a Movember nail art. I only painted my nails with yellow nail polish. And I couldn’t resist drawing little smileys on it. I accented it a little with moustache on ring finger. That is how I came up with this Movember nail art.

I am not among the girls who paint their left hand (non dominant hand) prettily and keep the poor right hand nails tattered and ignored (Yes girls in metro- flashing their pretty and well groomed left hand nails happily- I’m talking to you!). I never keep my right hand nails bare. I ALWAYS paint both hands, no matter it ends up looking wee bit untidy. And this is how it looked with this nail art.

I know the moustache looks weird okay, but still I managed to make it look like a moustache šŸ˜›
Don’t you thinkĀ it looks like the moustache of old rural people who keepĀ their moustache long and groomed.
