Forest Essentials Shea Butter & Pomegranate Lip Cream Review

So Shea Butter & Pomegranate Lip cream is one of the latest launches from Forest Essentials, and since their lip balms is my absolute absolute favorite (Reviewed HERE), I HAD to try this lip cream. Read on to know how it fared.

Forest Essentials Shea Butter & Pomegranate Lip Cream Review

  • Unlike their lip balm, this product is marketed as Lip ‘Cream’ and so comes in a different packing than the lip balm. It comes in a white and silver tube packaging with attractive floral art. The applicator is the slanted tip with hole to dispense product (much like the original Vaseline/ Himalaya lip balms). The applicator part is covered with a black screw cap. The back contains all the product details.
  • Also unlike the lip balm, it does not come in additional cardboard packaging.
  • Texture is exactly what the name suggests- creamy. Being a cream it has more slip on the lips than the usual balms and may feel a bit off at the starting especially if you apply more than required quantity, since we are accustomed to applying waxy lip balms. But after sometime the lip cream absorbs nicely and feels more comfortable.
  • Forest Essentials Shea Butter & Pomegranate Lip Cream does its job well. It makes lips soft and supple and heals chapped bits.
  • Forest Essentials is a heaven for amazing smelling products. But surprisingly, this lip cream smells too sweet and artificial for my liking. I was expecting some hints of pomegranate or any other natural fragrance, but the smell disappointed me!
  • It stays for 3-4 hours easily.
  • The quantity is much more than the lip balms (10 g vs 4 g), and only a teeny tiny amount is needed for 1 application. So this product will last a fairly long time. It is still bit expensive for a lip balm/cream , but this is what is expected from Forest Essentials, as after all it is ‘Luxurious’ Ayurveda, right?

Overall, Shea Butter & pomegranate Lip cream is just okay and does its job fine. It is not a lip balm but a cream so do not expect same texture as the balm. It has more slip at the starting but settles down to comfortable finish after sometime. It does its job nicely, makes lips soft and supple. However, the smell is off putting and feels too sweet, artificial and strong for my liking. As compared to the lip balm, it has more quantity and lasts longer. Only a little quantity is needed for one application. But I will still stick to my fav lip balm FE Sweet Narangi Juice, and probably will not repurchase this lip cream.

(Even lesser quantity is enough on the lips)

Forest Essentials Soundarya Advanced Serum 24 Karat Gold Review

Forest Essentials is my Holy Grail skincare brand and I cannot say it enough! I was not big on Ayurvedic formulations for skincare as I always thought it is messy and smelly but Forest Essentials has changed the game entirely. One sniff of its products and you will float on clouds heading towards heaven. I have tried a few Forest Essentials products and none have disappointed me… (Well.. except for one, which was from Men’s collection actually… But that’s a post for another day). So I was on splurging mode when I bought this beauty home. Read on to know how it fared on my dry skin.

Price: Rs 3795 for 25 ml

Forest Essentials Soundarya Advanced Serum 24 Karat Gold Review

Forest Essentials Soundarya Advanced Serum comes in similar packaging as their Day lotion (which is also my most fav summer moisturizer, reviewed HERE). It comes in cuboidal gold colored plastic packaging with gold colored cap. It has pump dispenser which pumps just the right amount of product. The bottle is sturdy, light weight and easy to travel with. However, the packaging is opaque which doesnot let you know how much product is left inside the bottle. Although, the pump dispenser is removable and can be opened to check the amount of product. All Forest Essentials products scream luxury and this product is no different. The bottle comes in cardboard packaging with all the necessary details. Since it contains 24 karat gold, the Soundarya range of Forest Essentials comes with a picture of Goddess Lakshmi (goddess of wealth) sitting on lotus flower, which looks attractive and promising TBH. The consistency of the serum is exactly like an oil. This is basically a facial oil disguised in the form of serum. It is saffron colored which doesnot impart any color on skin after applying. The smell is diviiiiiiiine you guys. I know i say it for all Forest Essentials products, but you gotto gotto got to sniff this one for sure. It smells wonderfully of sesame, liquorice, sandalwood and saffron. Being an oil, it does make skin oily and doesnot absorb instantly. 1-1 .5 pumps of product is sufficient to cover my entire face and spread it properly. But I don’t like the oily feeling which lingers for atleast a couple of minutes as oil takes sometime to absorb, so I asked the SA if there’s any other way this product can be used, and he suggested to mix it with Forest Essentials Aloe Water (Mini review HERE) on the palm before application. It was only after I finished the aloe water, I discovered the best way to use this. I had the FabIndia Rose water lying around and I spritz some Rose water on my face after applying this serum. It helped in quickly absorbing the oil in skin. So do use it with Facial mists or Rose water spray for better absorption. Forest Essentials products come with power ingredients and the Soundarya Advanced serum is no different. It does helps in brightening of the skin and adding a glow after regular usage. It makes the skin plump, radiant and nourished. But sadly it didn’t help with my blemishes (sun spots) on cheeks. Since this is an oil, I wouldn’t recommend this for oily skin beauties. Coming to price, yes it is bit pricey. But it contains 24 karat gold Bhasma and one bottle will last you a long time as only a tiny amount is needed to cover the whole face. Plus, it does give results and make skin brighter and radiant after regular use. I wouldn’t mind repurchasing this.

Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron Review

I swear by Forest Essentials products and after reviewing the Kashmiri Saffron & Neem face cleanser and  Lavender & Neroli Day cream, I am reviewing another product of my skin care regimen- Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron.

FYI, Sandalwood & Saffron variant is for dry skin

Jasmine & Patchouli is for oily skin

Price: Rs 2575 for 50 g   (updated price)

Forest Essentials Night Treatment Cream Sandalwood & Saffron Review

Forest Essentials night treatment cream comes in a plastic jar (which looks like glass btw) with beautiful golden screw cap. The golden cap makes the packaging luxurious. The plastic jar is housed in cardboard packaging with flip open lid.

The fragrance of all Forest Essential products is heavenly. It smells mildly of sandalwood which is calming especially before bedtime. The fragrance has therapeutic effect on me and helps in instant relaxation. The night cream is ivory colored with gel-cream texture. It  doesnot feel heavy on my dry skin. It melts on the skin and sinks in easily. But I would recommend oily skinned people to steer clear.

The texture feels just right on my dry skin, neither too heavy nor too light. The cream absorbs  instantly making the skin well hydrated and supple. I wake up to soft, plump, radiant and smooth skin. My skin texture has improved and skin is glowing over the months of continued usage. The quantity is sufficient and only a small amount is required. However, it doesnot work on blemishes and pigmentation even though it claims to. So, if you want something for pigmentation issues, it is useless to invest in this cream, no matter how glowy it makes your skin.

The only con I could find with Forest Essentials Sandawood & Saffron night cream is the price. It is fairly expensive but makes the skin radiant so you do see it working.

Overall, I LOVE Forest Essentials Sandalwood & Saffron night treatment cream and this is my favorite night cream so far. It smells like heaven and has calming effect. The texture is neither thick, nor thin. It melts on the skin and absorbs instantly. It doesnot feel heavy on my dry skin, but oily skinned beauties should steer clear. Forest Essentials has Jasmine & Patchouli night cream variant for oily skin which I will review later (even though I donot have oily skin :P). It provides intense hydration but never breaks me out. This night cream makes the skin supple, soft, radiant and plump. My skin texture has improved with continued usage of this cream. However, it doesnot work on pigmentation so don’t buy this especially for pigmentation concerns. Also, the price is expensive but then all Forest Essentials products are so, which is why they call it ‘Luxurious’ Ayurveda 😀 😛

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
