Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel : Wild Card ~ Review & Swatch

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range is one of the few nailpolish range which I fell head over heels in love with. I have already reviewed a beautiful coral pink color ‘Lady LuckHERE, and in this post I am reviewing the shade ‘Wild Card‘ which is my most fav blue color.

Price: Rs 460 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Wild Card Review

  • Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear range comes in a sturdy cylindrical glass bottle with long black cap (similar to its Colorstay range which now is discontinued). The shade name is stickered on top of the cap.
  •  The brush is amazing and helps in hassle free application. The brush is long, flat and double-barrel with tapered corners which helps in mess-free application especially around edges and cuticles.
  • Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel are very richly pigmented and gives full color in single swipe.
  • The consistency is creamy and slightly thick than usual nailpolish which makes it longer to dry.
  • The shade Wild Card is a gorgeous cobalt blue color. This is quite a vibrant and bright color which make the nails pop, and it is hard not to notice such a vivid color on someone. I myself saw this color on SA, after which I couldn’t resist buying it.
  • It has a glossy finish which starts to fade after 2-3 days.
  • This is not a quick drying nailpolish and takes quite a while to dry completely. Even after it has ‘set’ you can end up with fabric marks. I was able to put a dent in it with my nail even after 2 days (This could also be because my nailpolish is bit old now).
  • Coming to the Longwear claim, it stayed put for 2-3 days after which it started to chip, especially on my dominant hand.
  • It is quite pricey but the quantity is more and the formula is different from average nailpolish. Also, this is mostly on discount on some or the other e-commerce platform.
  • I have never had a proper gel manicure in a salon, but compared to any other drugstore faux-line of gel polish I have tried, these win hands down! These are highly glossy when freshly applied.
  • Being a vibrant and bright color, the shade Wild Card will suit fair to medium skin tones.
  • This is an unusual and super gorgeous shade of blue, and if you are a blue nailpolish fan like me, do check this one out. I am sure you too will end up buying it  😀

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel : Lady Luck ~ Review & Swatch

I have two range of Revlon nailpolish with me, one smaller packaging (THIS) and other Colorstay Gel Envy range which has been one of my favorite since it launched in 2014 (i think) and in this post I am reviewing a very beautiful shade- Lady Luck.

Price: Rs 460 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range is exactly similar in packaging to its Colorstay range (which now is discontinued). It comes in a sturdy cylindrical bottle with long black cap. The shade name is stickered on top of the cap. The brush is amazing, and contrary to brush of THIS nailpolish range, Colorstay range has an amazing double-barrel brush which is longflat with tapered corners. It helps in hassle free application, especially around edges and cuticles.

The pigmentation of these nailpolish is quite rich and gives full pigmentation in single swipe. The consistency is slightly thick than usual nailpolish which makes it longer to dry. Also, it is streaky in one coat so you need to apply 2 coats for a leveled finish.

The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which borders on being neonish. In the bottle it appears to have a golden sheen but on the nails it is hardly noticeable. This is a creamy nailpolish with glossy finish. It is quite difficult to photograph true coral color and the swatches below fail to capture it. This is a bright color which make the nails pop, making it perfect for summers.

Coming to the Longwear claim, it stayed put for 2-3 days after which I started to see slight tip wear, especially on my dominant hand. Proper chipping started after 5-6 days, which is okay. It is quite pricey but the quantity is more and the formula is different from average nailpolish.

I have never had a proper gel manicure in a salon, but compared to any other drugstore faux-line of gel polish I have tried, these win hands down!

Being a bright color, the shade Lady Luck will suit fair to medium skin tones. Dusky skin beauties may want to steer clear as it makes the skin color look a tad darker.

Overall, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel are richly pigmented, giving full coverage in single swipe. They get streaky in single swipe but levels off with another coat. The packaging is sturdy, cylindrical bottle with a long, tapered brush which is easy to work with. The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which is quite bright and borders on being neonish, making it perfect for summers. It stays put for 2-3 days after which tip wear sets in. Chipping starts after 5-6 days. This is a bit pricey nailpolish but the finish and consistency and quality is top notch. Being a bright color, Lady Luck shade will suit fair to medium skin tones.

Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel: Bold Sangria ~ Swatch & Review

This year has gone by so fast, don’t you think? It’s november already! The evenings have started to get chilly and the sun has hidden under the thick smog (Seriously Delhi, where do you want to go with the pollution levels?!) While the winter is about to make its entry in this part of the world, I thought of reviewing my fav nail polish for winter. Spring is about colors and vividness, Fall is all about dark colors. Revlon Colorstay LongWear Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is one perfect Fall color.

Price: Rs 350 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is a beautiful eggplant purple nail polish which flatters  my medium skin toned hands. I don’t like wearing black nail polish and this is such a beautiful alternative to wear dark, gothic colors. The color is dark eggplant purple but it also appears bit brownish in some lighting.

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamels come in a sturdy cylindrical bottle with shade name sticked on top. What impressed me most apart from the color is the brush of this nail polish. The double-barrel brush is wide with tapered corners, making nailpolish application a dream. The entire nail gets covered in two strokes. I absolutely hate thin brushes and the brush of this nail polish is amazing. The unique shape of the brush allows hassle free and quick application.

The formula of this nailpolish is creamy, it is neither too runny nor too thick. Color consistency is great and gives full coverage in 2 coats. The finish is super shiny and it looks high end on the nails. I saw minor tip wear starting next day onwards, but this happens with almost ALL the nailpolish I own (As seen in pics below).  I would call it pretty long lasting if applied with a top coat.

One thing to note is that this is NOT quick drying and it will take its fair share of time to dry. So better apply it when you are not in a hurry. I applied it at night and even after giving it full time to dry, ended up with crease marks in morning.

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is a beautiful eggplant purple color. The consistency is creamy and highly glossy. The brush of this nailpolish is unique and makes the application hassle free. Only drawback is this is not quick drying. But the color is so gorgeous that it has become my fav Fall color. If you like dark, gothic nail colors, do give this one a try.

BBLUNT Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream : Review

Bblunt climate control anti frizz leave in cream

I always wanted to try BBlunt products whenever I spotted them in Westside or New U. My hair being frizzy almost 360 days in a year ( counting 5 good hair days! ), I was more than happy to try this product. BBlunt products are especially created for Indian hair type and weather conditions. Here is my take on this product.

What it claims:

This versatile cream ensures your hair looks great, however hot, dry or humid it gets out there.

It enhances natural movement, smoothens and leaves you in charge, whatever the weather.

Specially created for Indian hair.

Protects from the environment and heat styling damage.

How to use:

Works best on damp, towel dried hair. Take a small quantity into your palms. Apply evenly, focusing on mid-lengths & ends, keeping away from the scalp. Style as desired.

Price: Rs 450 for 150g

Bblunt anti frizz cream review

Bblunt Climate Control Anti Frizz Leave in Cream review

BBlunt Climate control Anti frizz cream comes in an opaque, black shaped plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. There is a rotating on-off mode on the pump dispenser, so there is no unwanted spillage. The bottle is sturdy and travel friendly.

The cream is white in color with creamy consistency. It is neither too liquid nor too thick, just enough creamy to spread properly. The fragrance is amazing but it doesn’t last long. It lingers for about half an hour on my hair.

I use a coin sized amount (2 pumps) for my mid waist length hair. I apply the cream on damp, towel dried hair. Upon drying, it makes my hair really smooth and reduces frizz for most of the day. It is also easier to detangle and comb the hair after using this product. It makes my hair look sleek and manageable. This cream doesn’t weigh down the hair but if you apply too much of the product, it will make the hair feel heavy and oily. The anti frizz effect stays for 4-5 hours, so if you apply this product in morning, your hair will not remain frizz free by night. As the effect lasts for less than a day, the product needs to be applied again the next morning. I use the product on dry hair as well, using lesser quantity and applying mainly on fly-aways and the ends.

The product claims to be heat protective, but somehow I couldn’t bring myself to using this alone without my heat protecting lotion before straightening/ styling my hair. But the heat protecting feature is always an added benefit!

Overall, this product makes the hair sleek, smooth, manageable and frizz free for 4-5 hours. It doesn’t make the hair greasy if applied in moderate quantity. It also helps in detangling the hair. The fragrance is amazing but it doesn’t last long. I wish the anti-frizz effect lasted longer. This product is available in a smaller packaging as well, so one can try that before buying the bigger bottle.

Maybelline White Super Fresh Compact Review

Hello girlies!!

I am baaaackk after my wedding!!  I had been procrastinating to post anything, but finally decided to give some love to my blog as well 😀

Here I am reviewing a recent launch by Maybelline-  Maybelline White Super Fresh with Pure Perlite 12 Hour Whitening + Perfecting Compact. This new product is very reasonable priced and it comes in 3 shades.

Price: Rs 150

Shades: Coral, Shell, Pearl (from darkest to lightest)

maybelline white compact review

Maybelline White Super Fresh with Pure Perlite 12 Hour Whitening + Perfecting Compact Review

Maybelline White SuperFresh compact comes in sleek white plastic packaging with a built in mirror and an applicator. The compact portion is covered with a plastic layer to prevent any abrasions on the powder. The applicator is white in color with one cotton side to apply the product. The compact shuts tight making it travel friendly.

The powder texture is  soft, finely milled and not overly creamy or powdery. The shade ‘Shell’ is exact match to my medium skin tone. It blends easily and gives a natural finish. It mattifies the face, controls shine and instantly brightens up the complexion. This is a great product to carry in your bag if you want an oil-free, natural looking skin.  The coverage is light which can be built up to some extent, but I don’t expect a lot from this product and one will need a concealer to hide any blemishes, scars or dark circles.  It however accentuates any dry patches on skin, like any other compact. So, dry skinned people should moisturize their skin properly before applying this product. The compact feels a bit chalky sometimes, especially while swatching on hand. But since it blends easily on face, I have no complaints. It has a very mild floral smell.

One thing I am not impressed with is the applicator. The cottony side looks okayish but on applying the compact, the cotton fibres shed. Limited shade selection is another con.

The 12 hour claim is obviously hyped and no compact in the world stays put for 12 hours! It controls oil for 2-3 hours max on my oily T-zone and I need to touch up after that.  The UV filters is an added benefit but do not rely completely on this product for sun protection.

Everything aside, the best part of this compact is the price. Rs 150 for 8g of product is very reasonable and the light coverage it provides is perfect for daily use, especially for college going girls, who want a no-makeup look.

This is how the applicator looks after 5-6 applications. See the shedding of cotton fibres?

Overall, this is a great budget friendly compact which mattifies and brightens the face effectively. It takes away shine and provides light coverage. College going girls and people who prefer no-makeup look should invest in this product. The packaging is sleek and sturdy to carry in handbag.  The only drawback is the limited shade selection and the low quality applicator. But i would overlook these minor cons for the price it comes in.

Garnier PureActive Apricot Exfoliating Face Scrub: Review

garnier scrub

I am not a girl with night time routine or day time routine, or any skin care ‘routine’ as such. I am  a face wash- moisturizer kind of girl. Anything additional, that too on a daily basis seems too much of burden to me. I apply scrub on my face occasionally when I feel my skin is getting dull. I feel that with my skin already being dry, additional scrubbing and tugging might dry it out even more. But the Garnier Pro active Apricot scrub was a pleasant surprise.

garnier proactive apricot scrub

Garnier Pure Active Exfoliating scrub Review

This scrub comes in a squeeze tube packaging with flip open cap. The cap is sturdy, leak proof and travel friendly. The image of splashing apricot on the tube is cute.

The fragrance is amazing. I dont know exactly how to describe it. Slight fruity, fresh, apricot-y types. But the fragrance does not linger for long.

The scrub is white colored with orange colored apricot seed granules. The texture is very creamy with soft, fine granules of apricot seed which does not feel harsh on skin at all. Of late all the Garnier products I am using are quite creamy. The creamy texture of the scrub feels just perfect on the skin.

The scrubbing particles are evenly suspended and does not feel abrasive. This scrub cleanses well leaving the skin fresh, soft and clear. This scrub does not leave the skin dry like other scrubs but I still feel the need to apply a moisturiser. I don’t have blackheads, but as this is not a heavy duty scrub, it may not remove blackheads that effectively.

Price: Rs 70 for 50g

Overall, this is a great budget scrub for dry skinned beauties. It exfoliates pretty well without making the skin dry and is easy on pocket. The amazing fragrance is an added bonus. But this is mild scrub and may not be that effective on blackheads.

Valentine’s day Nail art – Part 2

valentine nail art

I have done the first part of this Valentine’s series HERE. Check it out.

This time I made it rather colorful nail art. And as always, white is a great color as base for nail arts. It makes other colors really pop.

I wanted to make a polka dot kinda nail art and I thought how about tweaking it with little hearts instead.

I have made the hearts using a dotting tool. I have done a tutorial on super easy way to draw hearts. Check it HERE. I have drawn the hearts here using the ‘v’ technique.

I wanted to keep this nail art soft and pastely, that is why I have used light colors. You can use any color of your choice.

The white nail polish I have used for base is NYC In a minute quick dry nail polish – Blanco 032

Hope you like it
