L’Oreal Paris launched this new range of nail polish last year – Color Riche L’Huile nail polish. Although this range has been available outside India for some time, it was launched in India recently. There is a wide variety of shades to choose from. Here I am reviewing a gorgeous purple shade ~ Violet Vendome 332.
Price: Rs 399
L’Oreal Paris Color Riche L’Huile nail polish Violet Vendome review
The packaging is very attractive and one of its kind. It comes in a super pretty cut-glass cuboidal bottle with shade name sticked on top. The bottle feels luxurious in hand. I got attracted to the packaging only when I spotted it from far and decided to purchase atleast one shade 😛
Violet Vendome 332 is a beautiful violet color with a perfect mix of purple and pink. This is such a vibrant shade which will work in spring as well as Fall in my opinion. (Check out another great purple nailpolish HERE). Even though Violet Vendome is a bright shade, it should still work across skin tones. The finish is highly glossy. The texture is smooth and creamy and the nailpolish is pigmented, although it takes 2-3 coats for full color intensity (3 for me as with 2 coats my nail tips were visible). These nail polish are fast drying, but I recommend applying thin coats. I am highly impressed with the brush. There are ridges on the stem holding the brush which makes it drip resistant. It is U-shape and perfectly wide to cover the nails in a single stroke without going outside the edges. I love nailpolish with a good brush. The USP of this range of nailpolish is that they have an oil-infused formulation which delivers deep, vibrant color and intense shine.
The glossiness of this nailpolish stays for 2-3 days. However, I could start to see tip wear next day onwards, which is a bummer. The chipping started after 4-5 days but you can always prolong the wear time by using a top coat.
Overall, I think these polishes are worth to have a look at. The packaging is really attractive, there is a large spectrum of shades to choose from, the pigmentation is good and the finish is highly glossy. The brush is amazing and makes the nailpolish application a dream, especially around cuticles. The texture, formula and finish is top notch.
This year has gone by so fast, don’t you think? It’s november already! The evenings have started to get chilly and the sun has hidden under the thick smog (Seriously Delhi, where do you want to go with the pollution levels?!) While the winter is about to make its entry in this part of the world, I thought of reviewing my fav nail polish for winter. Spring is about colors and vividness, Fall is all about dark colors. Revlon Colorstay LongWear Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is one perfect Fall color.
Price: Rs 350 for 11.7 ml
Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is a beautiful eggplant purple nail polish which flatters my medium skin toned hands. I don’t like wearing black nail polish and this is such a beautiful alternative to wear dark, gothic colors. The color is dark eggplant purple but it also appears bit brownish in some lighting.
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamels come in a sturdy cylindrical bottle with shade name sticked on top. What impressed me most apart from the color is the brush of this nail polish. The double-barrel brush is wide with tapered corners, making nailpolish application a dream. The entire nail gets covered in two strokes. I absolutely hate thin brushes and the brush of this nail polish is amazing. The unique shape of the brush allows hassle free and quick application.
The formula of this nailpolish is creamy, it is neither too runny nor too thick. Color consistency is great and gives full coverage in 2 coats. The finish is super shiny and it looks high end on the nails. I saw minor tip wear starting next day onwards, but this happens with almost ALL the nailpolish I own (As seen in pics below). I would call it pretty long lasting if applied with a top coat.
One thing to note is that this is NOT quick drying and it will take its fair share of time to dry. So better apply it when you are not in a hurry. I applied it at night and even after giving it full time to dry, ended up with crease marks in morning.
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in shade Bold Sangria is a beautiful eggplant purple color. The consistency is creamy and highly glossy. The brush of this nailpolish is unique and makes the application hassle free. Only drawback is this is not quick drying. But the color is so gorgeous that it has become my fav Fall color. If you like dark, gothic nail colors, do give this one a try.
Colorbar has recently launched a new range of Nail polish- the Heavy Metal Collection. There are seven beautiful shades in this collection and I couldn’t help but pick one shade myself. I bought the shade Pink Topaz 006 and I will be reviewing it here.
This is how Colorbar describes Heavy Metal nail polish
Sparkle like a gemstone wherever you go! Embrace the richness of deep and heavy pearl toned shades that add character to your nails and give that heavy metal effect. The shades reflect the personality of the popular gemstones hand-picked to suit Indian skin types. The stark contrast of the shades against your nails make them look attractive instantly and they look like beautiful gemstones. The formula is intense yet fast-drying with deep intensity of self-pearls and high shine. In just a single stroke your nails are enveloped in irresistible and trend-setting metal shades of the future. What’s more is that the formula has an excellent drying time along with being 3-free, long-lasting, non-yellowing and chip-resistant.
Price: Rs 300 for 9 ml
Colorbar Heavy Metal nail polish comes in a rectangular bottle with shade name sticker on top of the cap.The cap has a colorful wavy art design which is signature to this range. The brush is decent and picks enough nail polish for one stroke application.
Pink Topaz 006 is a beautiful deep onion pink color with pearl finish. This polish is sheer in one coat and it takes 3-4 coats to build to full opacity. Pearl finish nail polish tend to be streaky, but this one is not at all streaky. This nail polish is fast drying, so you do not have to wait much between the coats. The staying power of this nail polish is good. I did not see any tip wear for 3 days and chipping started only after 5 days.
Even though I picked one color (for now ;)), the other shades worth checking out are : Emerald Heights (emerald color), Chrome Sapphire (Yellowish gold) and Garnet mist (maroonish-brown).
This nail polish looks more pink in some of the swatches above, but it is more deep and purplish pink in color
Heavy Metal range by Colorbar consists of beautiful deep colors with pearl finish. Pink Topaz 006 is a deep onion pink color with beautiful pearl finish. This nail polish is fast drying and fairly long lasting. Even though the consistency is sheer, the color is buildable in 3-4 coats. Only thing is, it could have been a little cheaper. The quantity is same as the Colorbar Exclusive nail polish range, only they have introduced new colors. Other than that, the formula and color is excellent. I will probably purchase more colors of this range
Color blocking has been in trend for a long time now and I was surprised I have never done any color-block nail art. And now having many Maybelline Color Show polishes in my kitty, i thought why not put them to some good use. So this is how I color blocked my nails. 🙂
I have done another nail art using Colorshow polish. You can check it HERE
I have used the shades Blueberry ice, Blackcurrant pop and Bold gold.
Striping tape would have looked better and crisp than the black separating lines (which I coudnt draw neatly as my polish had gone gloopy). But since i donot have striping tapes, I had to make do with black polish.
You can replace the gold part with the glitter polishes that Maybelline launched in its Colorshow range recently.
Color block is one of the easiest nail arts to do. If you are a beginner, you should definitely give this a try.
Hope you find it useful

Maybelline Color show Glitter Mania polishes shouts GLAMOUR as soon as you set your eyes on them. Maybelline launched these pretty bombs in 8 shades sometime back. I’ve got a handful of them and I’m reviewing the shade Paparazzi Purple here.
Paparazzi Purple is a pretty eggplant purple color with sandy texture and silver glitter. All the shades in their Glitter mania range are sand-textured. These are loaded with glitter and apply like a breeze. They spread evenly in one go and there is no need to apply multiple coats to even out the glitter on nails. I usually donot feel the need to apply another coat with these but here I have applied two coats to be safe. And the best thing these are not some glitter suspended in clear base- such polishes take more than 3-4 coats to go fully opaque.
But these beauties go opaque in Just.One.Coat ! The color payoff is that good.
The glitter and shimmer is homogenous with the purple base and it does not tend to settle down like in other glitter polishes.
Paparazzi Purple contain a mix of silver shimmer and silver glitter which are not too chunky. Though they are super shimmery at the time of application, their sheen starts to fade after 2-3 days, becoming more matte-r and less shimmery with time. The glitter particles do not fall off and do not cling to fabric.
Thing I like the most in all Color show polishes is that they dry fast. By the time you finish your second hand the nailpolish on first hand has almost dried. A big thumbs up for this!
The packaging is same as their regular Color Show polishes – cylindrical body, black cap with shade name engraved on the top. The brush is decent and applies good amount in one go.
This polish is gritty in texture which may feel weird to touch if you are not accustomed to texturized/glitter polishes. The staying power is great. I thought they would chip easy like the Loreal glitter polishes but they surprised me. I saw tip wear by 3rd day and one can get away an entire week wearing these.
Price: Rs. 125 (Normal Color show polishes costs Rs 75)
Pretty shades, quick-drying, easy on pocket, long lasting- what is not to love?! One must have at least one glitter polish in their stash and these are a steal at this price for the quality they offer.
By the way glitter polishes are pain to remove. I shall do a post on a super easy way to remove the glitter polishes soon. Stay tuned.
