Colorbar Arteffects Nail Lacquer : Pinken Gold ~ Review & Swatch

Source

Colorbar has rebranded the previous 24 ct range of nailpolish as Arteffects range and I have a few shades of the 24 ct range with me. I have already reviewed a gorgeous bronze gold shade- Liquid Gold HERE and in this post I am reviewing my favorite shade of the collection- Pinken Gold.

Price: Rs 325 for 12 ml

Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nail Lacquer Pinken Gold Review

Colorbar has standardized the nailpolish packaging and you won’t find any of the previous cuboidal packaging at the counters now. The pics below are of old packaging. The new packaging is thick, cube glass bottle which feels heavy (same as in THIS review). The brush is short and stout but wide to pick enough product for 1 coat application. The shade name is stickered at the bottom. Being a bit heavy and huge, it takes up more space in storage than the previous packaging..

Pinken gold is a beautiful dark pink color with gorgeous orange duochrome effect. It has gold and pink microshimmer which gives an added depth to this beautiful color. The consistency is sheer in 1 coat and takes 2-3 coats for full opacity, depending on the thickness of coats you apply.  It dries fast and there is no waiting time in between multiple coats application. Pinken Gold is a one of its kind shade with prominent duochrome effect. If you are fond of pink colors, do check this one. The shade is quite different and unique from other shades in Indian market.  This nailpolish will suit all skin tones.

Wear time for this nailpolish is good and tip wear starts after 2-3 days  (without top coat) on my dominant hand. Proper chipping sets in after 5-6 days. Price is a bit high but this is a big bottle (12 ml) so it is ok if you do the math, compared to other nailpolish in market (Maybelline’s Colorshow range is Rs 175 for 6 ml).

There are many naipolish in market claimed to have duochrome effect. But if you want true duochrome action, this is the nailpolish to look for.

Overall, Colorbar Arteffects Luxe Nailpolish comes in short, glass bottle which feels bulky and heavy compared to Colorbar’s previous packaging. The brush is short and slightly rounded which helps in clean application. The consistency is sheer and needs 3 coats for full coverage. Price wise, this nailpolish is okay for its price as the quantity is big (12 ml). The shade Pinken Gold is a gorgeous pink color with orange duochrome effect. It has pink and golden microglitter which adds a subtle depth to the color.  It lasts 5-6 days with tip wear setting after 2-3 day (without top coat). It will suit all Indian skin tones. You don’t get to see true duochrome shades in Indian market and this one is worth the buy. I will definitely repurchase.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel : Lady Luck ~ Review & Swatch

I have two range of Revlon nailpolish with me, one smaller packaging (THIS) and other Colorstay Gel Envy range which has been one of my favorite since it launched in 2014 (i think) and in this post I am reviewing a very beautiful shade- Lady Luck.

Price: Rs 460 for 11.7 ml

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel Review

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy range is exactly similar in packaging to its Colorstay range (which now is discontinued). It comes in a sturdy cylindrical bottle with long black cap. The shade name is stickered on top of the cap. The brush is amazing, and contrary to brush of THIS nailpolish range, Colorstay range has an amazing double-barrel brush which is longflat with tapered corners. It helps in hassle free application, especially around edges and cuticles.

The pigmentation of these nailpolish is quite rich and gives full pigmentation in single swipe. The consistency is slightly thick than usual nailpolish which makes it longer to dry. Also, it is streaky in one coat so you need to apply 2 coats for a leveled finish.

The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which borders on being neonish. In the bottle it appears to have a golden sheen but on the nails it is hardly noticeable. This is a creamy nailpolish with glossy finish. It is quite difficult to photograph true coral color and the swatches below fail to capture it. This is a bright color which make the nails pop, making it perfect for summers.

Coming to the Longwear claim, it stayed put for 2-3 days after which I started to see slight tip wear, especially on my dominant hand. Proper chipping started after 5-6 days, which is okay. It is quite pricey but the quantity is more and the formula is different from average nailpolish.

I have never had a proper gel manicure in a salon, but compared to any other drugstore faux-line of gel polish I have tried, these win hands down!

Being a bright color, the shade Lady Luck will suit fair to medium skin tones. Dusky skin beauties may want to steer clear as it makes the skin color look a tad darker.

Overall, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel are richly pigmented, giving full coverage in single swipe. They get streaky in single swipe but levels off with another coat. The packaging is sturdy, cylindrical bottle with a long, tapered brush which is easy to work with. The shade Lady Luck is a beautiful coral pink color which is quite bright and borders on being neonish, making it perfect for summers. It stays put for 2-3 days after which tip wear sets in. Chipping starts after 5-6 days. This is a bit pricey nailpolish but the finish and consistency and quality is top notch. Being a bright color, Lady Luck shade will suit fair to medium skin tones.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Lipstick: Swatches & Review

Maybelline Lip Gradation lip color is hands down my favorite matte formula. Lip gradation range is around for sometime and I have 3 shades with me which I am reviewing in this post- Pink 1, Pink 2, Red 1.

Price: Rs 500 for 1.25 g

Maybelline Lip Gradation Lip color Review

Maybelline Lip gradation lipstick come in swivel up retractable crayon packaging with color coded body. It has lipstick at one end and sponge smudger at the other end. The cap for lipstick end is black colored and smudger lid is translucent black color. The lipstick is smaller in width than normal lipsticks and thicker than lip liners, so it is quite convenient and easy to use especially around edges and corners. The twisting mechanism for swivelling action is at the smudger end and not on the body. The shade name is stickered on the smudger cap and manufacturing date is engraved on the body (below the logo).

Maybelline lip gradation lipstick is super smooth and glides like butter on the lips. It is non-drying and applies like a dream. The pigmentation is phenomenal and gives opaque coverage in single swipe. The texture of these lipstick is powdery and different from any other matte lipsticks I have tried. This lipstick is very comfortable to wear. Matte lipsticks tend to dry out the lips after a few hours, but this lipstick neither dries, nor hydrates the lips. This lipstick feels creamy to apply but settles to a perfect matte finish.

When this lipstick came out, Korean gradient lips were in trend and the smudger helps to achieve the look, where maximum intensity of color is at the centre of the lips and the intensity fades out along the edges. I, personally, was never a fan of that trend. The smudger, however, does a great job in blurring and fading the pigmentation.

This lipstick lasts very long. Even after meals, this lipstick stays put and fades only slightly from the inner rims. The pigmentation and color stays intact for a good 7-8 hours! Even after that it leaves a beautiful strong stain. This lipstick doesnot emphasizes dry bits of lips like other matte lipsticks usually do. It doesnot transfer much and does not settle into fine lines.

Everything one wants in a matte lipstick, Maybelline Lip gradation has it!

Only con I could think of is the quantity. The quantity is less than other lipsticks and so it will finish up early.

Pink 1 : soft pink color with warm tones. Perfect shade for summers. This shade will suit fair to medium skintones.

Pink 2 : deep pink color with warm tones. This shade will suit all skintones.

Red 1 : Brick red color with hints of brown. This is a mature shade and perfect for gifting to your mom. This shade will suit all skintones.

Overall, Maybelline Lip gradation lipsticks come in twist up crayon packaging with smudger at one end. The lipstick bullet is slimmer than other lipsticks and thicker than lip liners, so this is quite easy to use especially around edges and corners. The smudger is decent and fades/ blurs the color beautifully. This lipstick is non drying and super comfortable on the lips.  The pigmentation and longevity is the best among all matte lipsticks I have tried. It stays put for 7-8 hours and leaves a strong stain after that. Doesn’t budge even after meals. Pink 1 is a beautiful soft pink color which will suit fair to medium skin tones. Pink 2 is deeper pink color which will suit all skin tones. Red 1 is beautiful brick red color with brown tones which is perfect for mature ladies and will suit all skintones.

These are hands down the best matte lipsticks in this price range. I highly highly recommend these!

Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor : Flaming Fuchsia ~ Review & Swatch

Maybelline has a WIDE range of lipsticks and Colorshow range has been around for sometime. The range has 12 matte colors and I picked up two shades from this range quite a while back and somehow I could not get myself to review these. Both the shades are absolutely gorgeous and wearable. In this post I am reviewing the shade Flaming Fuchsia.

Price: Rs 325 for 3.9 g

Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor Flaming Fuchsia Review

Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor comes in black matte packaging with color coded band at the centre. The band doesnot code the actual shade but only the color family. This is a normal swivel up bullet packaging. The shade name is stickered at the bottom of the bullet.

As the name says, the texture of these lipsticks is creamy matte. It glides on the lips easily and gives opaque coverage in single swipe. It does not feel drying at all and is super comfortable to wear. It is prone to transfer though, since it is not complete dry-your-lips kind of matte.  It has a fruity smell which does not linger for long. The lipstick gets into lines after sometime and accentuates the dry flaky bits so exfoliate the lips before applying.

Flaming Fuchsia color from this range is love at first sight for me. I didn’t even intend to buy another pink lippie but when the pushy SA swatched it on my hand I couldn’t help not buy this. I donot regret buying this one bit and will probably keep on repurchasing. Flaming Fuschia is a super vibrant poppy pink color which borders on being neon, but is still totally wearable. It is much better in real and the swatches dont do justice to the beautiful color. If you are in hunt of a vibrant pink  lipstick, do check this out. I cannot emphasize enough how gorgeous this color is.

Price wise, this is a pretty good buy. Not too expensive and lasts a long time. Quality and pigmentation is superb. It lasts 4-5 hours which is okay as it doesnot claim to be long lasting. Plus the texture is velvety matte and not super matte which makes it fade earlier than other matte lipsticks. It fades to a beautiful pink stain.

Overall, Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte lipsticks are creamy and velvety matte in texture which glides easily on the lips. These are quite hydrating and super comfortable and do not dry out the lips. It lasts for 4-5 hours with meals after which it fades to a beautiful stain. Flaming Fuschia is a gorgeous vibrant fuschia color which is unlike any other pink lipstick I have seen. It brightens up the face and will suit most Indian skintones. I will definitely repurchase this as I am in love with the beautiful vibrant color.

Maybelline colorshow Bright Matte nailpolish: Peppy Pink ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline has just launched a new range in their Colorshow nail polish: Bright Mattes collection. There are 6 shades in this range, all in the shades of red family- orange, red and pink. I have 2 shades with me and here I am reviewing the shade Peppy Pink

Price: Rs 175

Maybelline Colorshow Bright Matte Peppy Pink review

Maybelline Bright Matte collection comes in same packaging as the Colorshow range except that the bottle is frosted which looks chic. The shade name is stickered on the top, which looks a bit cheap. Other colorshow range has shade name engraved on the cap. The brush is short but okay,  though I would have liked a broader brush for matte collection, as short/thin brush leads to streaking which is more prominent in matte finish.

Peppy Pink is a warm toned dark pink color with beautiful matte finish. The nailpolish is quite pigmented and one coat is sufficient to bring out the full color, still I have applied two coats in the swatches below. The matte effect lasts for 2 days and it turns to normal finish after that. Matte nailpolish tend to chip early and I started to see tip wear, especially on my right (dominant) hand starting next day itself. On left hand, it started a bit late. Since the brush is thin, it led to streaking. But interestingly, it became normal as the matte effect started to fade after few days. Also, the color starts to deepen as the matte effect fades.

This range has only 6 colors, all in the shades of red family. I would have loved to see a wider spectrum of colors in this range. Even though the name says ‘Bright’, the range does not have bright colors except one or two.

Overall this is an okay nailpolish and if you want to experiment with matte finish, this range is a good start. Matte nailpolish tend to chip fast so this is not a long wearing nailpolish. Also, the shade range is narrow and covers only orange, pink and red. It would have been nice if it covered more shades.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Fireworks 114 ~ Swatch & Review

maybelline-colorshow-party-girl-nailpolish

Maybelline launched this range of nailpolish last year and I have reviewed the shade Tequila Sunrise (a gorgeous rose gold color, first in the pic above) before. In this post I am reviewing another gorgeous party shade ‘Fireworks 114

colorshow-party-girl-firework

Price: Rs 175

Fireworks 114 is a berry pink colored nail polish with chunks of glitter. This nailpolish has magenta, black and golden micro shimmer with golden and magenta chunky hexagonals suspended in a semi transparent dark pink base. The overall color is a beautiful glittery dark pink with golden glitters. The glitters and hexagonal chunks in this nailpolish remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. This is semi transparent  nailpolish in single coat and gives full opacity with 2 coats.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat.

The shade is bit deeper in reality than in the swatches below.

Fireworks 114 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite ok, as I dont expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Overall, this is a beautiful deep pink glitter nailpolish which will go out with most traditional Indian outfits as they tend to have some element of red/pink in them. I will definitely repurchase this when this bottle gets over.
