Nail Art: Floral

It has been a while since I posted a nail art, and this one has been sitting in my folder for sooo long. This is an easy peasy floral nail art.

I chose the color pink, but you can pair it with any color of your choice. Ā This is one of my go-to nail art when I dont want to spend much time doing it. All you need to do this nail art is a dotting tool/ bobby pin/ tooth pick and your choice of nail polish. I like to do my dots using a tooth pick as it gives more uniform dots.

Do try this nail art and link back if you like šŸ™‚

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Tequila Sunrise ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year towards the end and I have been meaning to review them on my blog ever since. This is such a stunning collection and anyone who loves glitter polish will go bonkers. I myself had to control myself from buying too many shades (I only picked 4 :P) I will review the shades I have and here I am reviewing my favorite shade from the collection : Tequila Sunrise 112Ā

Pssst!Ā My love for Glitter nailpolish can be seen HERE šŸ˜€

Price: Rs 175

Tequila Sunrise 112Ā is a beautiful rose gold-pinkish nail polish with roseĀ gold hexagonals and glitter. The nailpolish has golden shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful rose gold sheen.Ā This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottleĀ with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer, but it is high on golden shimmer so you can wear one coat also.

The shade is more golden and light pink as compared too swatches below which are more pink and less gold.

Tequila Sunrise 112Ā beingĀ glitter nailpolish, its removal can beĀ quiteĀ a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitterĀ polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite ok, as I dont expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Overall, this is a beautiful rose gold glitter nailpolish and if you love glitter and if you love the color rose gold, you shouldĀ definitely check it out.

Colorbar Heavy Metal Nail Polish : Pink Topaz 006 ~ Review & Swatch

Colorbar Heavy metal nail polish

Colorbar has recently launched a new range of Nail polish- the Heavy Metal Collection. There are seven beautiful shades in this collection and I couldn’t help but pick one shade myself. I bought the shade Pink Topaz 006 and I will be reviewing it here.

This is how Colorbar describes Heavy Metal nail polish

Sparkle like a gemstone wherever you go! Embrace the richness of deep and heavy pearl toned shades that add character to your nails and give that heavy metal effect. The shades reflect the personality of the popular gemstones hand-picked to suit Indian skin types. The stark contrast of the shades against your nails make them look attractive instantly and they look like beautiful gemstones. The formula is intense yet fast-drying with deep intensity of self-pearls and high shine. In just a single stroke your nails are enveloped in irresistible and trend-setting metal shades of the future. Whatā€™s more is that the formula has an excellent drying time along with being 3-free, long-lasting, non-yellowing and chip-resistant.

Price: Rs 300 for 9 ml

Colorbar Heavy Metal nail polish comes in a rectangular bottle with shade name sticker on top of the cap.The cap has a colorful wavy art design which is signature to this range. The brush is decent and picks enough nail polish for one stroke application.

Pink Topaz 006 is a beautiful deepĀ onion pink color with pearl finish. This polish is sheer in one coat and it takes 3-4 coats to build to full opacity. Pearl finish nail polish tend to be streaky, but this one is not at all streaky. This nail polish is fast drying, so you do notĀ have to wait much between the coats. The staying power of this nail polish is good.Ā I did not see any tip wear for 3 days and chipping started only after 5 days.

Even though I picked one color (for now ;)), the other shades worth checking out are : Emerald Heights (emerald color), Chrome Sapphire (Yellowish gold) and Garnet mist (maroonish-brown).

This nail polishĀ looks more pink in some of the swatches above, but it is more deep and purplish pink in color

Final Thoughts

Heavy Metal range by Colorbar consistsĀ of beautiful deep colors with pearl finish.Ā Ā Pink Topaz 006 is a deep onion pink color with beautiful pearl finish. This nail polish is fast drying and fairly long lasting. Even though the consistency is sheer, the color is buildable in 3-4 coats. Only thing is, it could have been a little cheaper. The quantity is same as the Colorbar Exclusive nail polish range, only they have introduced new colors. Other than that, the formula and color is excellent. I will probably purchase more colors of this range

Zig-Zag Nail Art

zig zag nail art

It has been a long time since I last posted a nail art, and so here I am posting a nail art which has been sitting quietly for many many months in a forgotten folder somewhere in my computer. (Eeeeee!)

This was supposed to be a color block nail art of pink and yellow, but then I added a zig zag line (just like that) with a nail art pen.

My nail art pen went gloopy, that is why there are random black lines here and thereĀ :-/

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Lip Balm : Mixed- Berry, Cherry, Orange ~ Review, Swatch

Maybelline candy wow cherry review

Tinted lip balms have always been my thing. Even after my marriage, I don’t apply lipsticks daily. I always go for tinted lip balms. Whenever there is a new tinted balm in market, I HAVE to try it. Maybelline has always been a favorite for their Baby lips ever since they first launched the tinted variant. Ā They have recently introducedĀ Ā Candy Wow Baby Lips and I was quite excited to try these. I have 3 shades with me- Orange, Cherry and Mixed Berry.

Price: Rs 275 for 2 g

Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Review

Mixed- Berry: Cool toned pink color Ā (Raspberry shade is warm toned pink)

Orange: warm toned orange color

Cherry:Ā Semi sheer cherry red color, most pigmented of the lot, leaves a beautiful stain, will suit every skin tone.

These lip balm come in brightly colored twist up crayon packaging. The color of the tubeĀ is matched with the color of the lip balm so it is easier to identify. The fonts on the Lip balm tube are ultra cute. It is a chubby lip balm with retractable, rounded tip. The cap is not very tight but so far I have had no issueĀ of them coming off while travelling.

The lip balms have very smooth and buttery consistency. They are moisturizing, Ā highly glossy with good color pay-off. They are like sheer lipsticks, only a notch higher on the moisturizing front. The color is sheer which can be intensified by applying 2-3 coats. They leave aĀ mildĀ stain on the lips which intensifies when you reapply the lip balm, especially Cherry flavor.Ā They are not super moisturizing and won’t heal your chapped lips magically overnight. But these areĀ amazingĀ for daily wear if you want aĀ hint of color on your lips. Ā The wear time is about 2-2.5 hours on my lips, after which I need to reapply the lip balm.

The fragrance is amazing and not over powering. They have individual fragranceĀ basedĀ to the shade name.

One thing I don’t like is the quantity. They have reduced the quantity and increased the price. Also, I feel the lip balmĀ ‘melts’ inside the tube especially in hot weather as one can see messiness on the crayon stick and also it shifts side ways while you twist it up. So, I don’t twist it up all the way when this happens as it may break.

You can see the ‘melting’ of the stick in the pics below.

Overall, theĀ bright,Ā colorful packaging and the chubby pencil design of the lip balm is very attractive. These are highly glossy, decently moisturizingĀ with good color pay-off for a lip balm. But don’t depend on these for long term hydration and healing as they stay for 2-2.5 hours. Also, the quantity is less and the price is higher than regular Baby Lips lip balm. But, I am so in love with these Lip balms that I wear them daily for work and I will definitely repurchase these cuties. =)

Streetwear Color Rich Ultra Moist Lipstick Spellbound : Review & Swatch

Street wear launched these super affordable lipsticks a while back in a vibrant range ofĀ shades and I have a few Streetwear Color Rich Ultra moist lipsticks with me. Instead of clubbing them all in one post, I will do a detailed post for each shade. In this post I amĀ reviewingĀ Spell Bound –Ā a beautiful earthy rose color which will suit most Indian skintone.

streetwear lipstick spell bound

Price: Rs 180

Packaging:

These lipsticks come in cuteĀ packaging featuring pop art. The lid is transparent through which the color of bullet can be seen. The shade name is written at the bottom. But I hate that these lipsticks don’t swivel down all the way and some part peeks out of the bullet. This will definitely lead to nicks and cuts on the lipstick while you put the lid on, no matter how careful you are šŸ˜¦

Review:

Spellbound is a beautiful rose pink color with brownish undertones. It looks like a brown lipstick when you look at the bullet but it transforms into a beautiful earthy rose color on the lips. It is a natural pink-brown color which does not look too out there. This is a great color for everyday officeĀ wear and it will suit many skin tones. It will work across different age groups as well, especially those who like soft, natural colors. I gave this lipstick to my mother and she loves the color. This shadeĀ is neither too bright nor too dull – just the perfect subtle shade.

These lipsticks smell of vanilla which reminds me of MAC lipsticks. The texture is smooth and creamy and very comfortable to wear. It doesnot feel too heavy or too drying. The pigmentation is sheer on first coat but can be built up. It lasts 3-4 hours on me without meals after which it leaves a soft pink stain.

These lipsticks offer great quality for such cheap price (Rs 180). You are definitely getting your money’s worth, especially when these days even drugstore brands are charging huge price for lipsticks. With a greatĀ variety to choose from, college girls or makeup newbies should definitely check them out.

Overall, for the price they come in, these lipsticks are a real steal! They offer very good quality for such drugstore brand. They will specially attract college girls. SpellboundĀ is a beautiful natural earthy pink. If you like such natural, everyday color, do check this one out.

Valentine’s day Nail art – Part 4

cute love nail art

Hi

I’m really high on Valentine’s nail art this time. This is the 4th part of the series. You can check others here

Valentine’s nail art Part 1

Valentine’s nail art Part 2

Valentine’s nail art Part 3

Since Valentine’s is all about love and hearts and pinks, I incorporated all of this into one nail art. I always say that white is a great base color for nail art, but I wanted to use some other color this time. So I settled on this pink and white combination.

girl boy love nail art

I wanted to make it a couple’s nail art but I had already done one before (Part-1 of series above *if you still haven’t checked it, go check it fast fast*). So being a student of biology, I drew the symbols of male and female as an alternative šŸ˜€

If you don’t know about it, male is represented by this symbol of Mars –Ā Ā ā™‚ : a circle with an arrow pointing north-east. Female is represented by the symbol of Venus –Ā ā™€ :Ā a circle with a small cross underneath.

I took the liberty of drawing a pink bow on the female symbol ^_^ (Okay, also to make it look like a female. Otherwise these are just weird shapes for a layman).

love biology nail art

The black nail art pen I used went gloopy, that is why I couldn’t draw perfect circle and that is why they look alien-ish

Anyhoo, they still look pretty to me šŸ™‚

I always always always do nail art on both my hands, no matter how shaky my left hand is. This is how my right hand mani looked. Not bad, haan.

biology love nail art

I drew the hearts using the tips mentioned HERE. Super easy!

And finally I finished it with a glittery top coat on pink nails and some polka dot on my thumb.

Pink: Colorbar Nail Lacquer – Rose Quartz 92

White: NYC In a minute quick dry nail polish – Blanco 032

Glitter top coat: Colorbar Pro Glitterati Top coatĀ – Retro Pink
