Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser : Review

I love Forest Essentials products  and in this post I am reviewing an amazing staple product in my skincare routine- Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser.

I have reviewed some other amazing Forest Essentials product HERE

Forest Essentials Delicate Facial cleanser comes in two variants: Kashmiri Saffron & Neem and Mashobra Honey, Lemon & Rosewater . I have tried both the facewash in their smaller packaging (50ml) and I liked Kashmiri Saffron more so I bought a full size product.

Price:    Rs 1075 for 200ml

                Rs 295 for 50 ml

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser review

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Face Cleanser comes in two packaging: 50 ml and 200 ml. I bought the 50 ml one before buying the full sized product. The 200 ml packaging comes in a big rectangular plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The bottle is transparent so the amount of product left in the bottle is visible. The pump dispenser has a cap making it spill proof and travel friendly.

Forest Essentials ace in the packaging department. Half of the ‘luxurious’ feel is because of the packaging only. The FE bag they give you after billing and packaging at the store smells divine. They spritz some perfume in it and add some flower petals. The packaging of the products itself is luxurious (how many lip balms come with a mirror, for example? Read about the lip balm HERE)

The fragrance of this facewash is amazing. It smells luxurious and exotic, giving a spa-like feeling. It smells refreshingly of saffron and rose water which lifts your mood instantly, feeling soothing and relaxing.

This is an amber colored gel facewash which does not lather up much but cleanses the face effectively. The consistency is runny and there is no problem in dispensing the product from the pump. It feels moisturizing and does not make the skin excessively dry. This is a gentle facewash without the harsh effects of chemicals. The skin feels soft, smooth and supple after washing. But I would not recommend this to people with excessively oily skin.

Even though this is an expensive product but it lasts really long. I use 2 pumps each in morning and evening and the bottle is only half empty after 3 months! I am sure it will easily last 6 months, or more.

Forest Essentials products are cruelty free and doesnot contain parabens.

I dropped the bottle before clicking the picture, hence the bubbles

Overall, Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem face cleanser is a gentle, gel based cleanser which cleans the face effectively leaving a moisturizing feel to the skin. The skin feels soft and supple. The fragrance is lovely and the packaging feels luxurious. Even though it is pricey but it will easily last 6 months, or even more. Skip this facewash only if you want a squeaky clean finish, are acne prone and oily skinned. Otherwise, this is an amazing facewash which will work best for dry/combination skin type.

Garnier White Complete Fairness Face Wash

Price: Rs 145 for 100g

Garnier White Complete Fairness Face wash comes in attractive white and yellow tube packaging with flip cap. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. The facewash has a very refreshing citrus smell, but it doesn not linger for long.

The facewash is pearlish white in color with creamy consisitency. It lathers well and leaves the skin squeaky clean after rinsing. I use a little more than pea-size quantity for my face. It doesnot feel heavy or leave any residue behind on the skin and rinses off easily with water.  It leaves the skin absolutely clean and fresh and removes every last trace of oil and grime from face. It however felt drying on my already dry skin, but oily skinned beauties will love this facewash.

I remove my eyeliners with oil based removers and therefore I need to wash my face and leftover oil on skin with a good facewash. Garnier White Complete fairness facewash is perfect for this. The skin feels thoroughly cleansed and refreshed after using this product. This facewash is absolutely perfect for removing makeup, grime and dirt after the long day at work.

I can not comment on the fairness aspect for overall skin tone but it did not help much in my blemishes and pigmentation on cheeks. But I really love this product to cleanse my face after removing makeup.

I’d recommend this facewash to everyone looking for a cleanser to remove every last traces of oil and dirt from skin. Overall, I feel this is an awesome budget friendly product to remove that last trace of oil and grime from the skin and I’d definitely recommend this to everyone!

Garnier White Complete Multi Action Fairness cream

Price: Rs 160 for 40g

This cream claims to provide instant whitening and long lasting fairness. The skin looks even, feels fresh and moisturized with a natural glow.

Multi Action fairness cream for glowing skin :

1.Instant Whitening – provides instant whitening
2.Sun Protection with SPF 19 PA+++ – Protects skin from further darkening by harmful UVA and UVB sun rays
3.Long Lasting Fairness – Fairer skin over time with regular usage

My review of Garnier White Complete Multi action Fairness cream

The cream comes in a white opaque tub packaging with screw lid. The packaging is travel friendly but the tub packaging makes it bit unhygienic. Garnier White Complete Fairness Cream has a light whipped texture. It is highly emollient and absorbs completely into the skin without leaving any greasiness. It has refreshing citrus fragrance. The cream has an instant brightening effect and does not leave any whitish cast on skin. This cream is mattifying and contain SPF 19 PA+++ making it ideal for sultry summer days.

This is a non-oily cream, so girls who need a non-oily moisturizing cream should definitely check this one out. I have dry skin so I find this cream not nourishing enough, but my brother has oily skin and he loves this!

Overall, if you are looking for non-oily, mattifying day cream with instant brightening effect, do check this one out. I would recommend this more to oily skinned people as dry skinned people like me will need an additional moisturizer over it.

Natio Eye Makeup Remover : Review

natio eye make up remover

I am more of a kajal and lip gloss (read colored lip balm =D ) kind of girl and so at the end of the day I don’t have much layers of makeup to remove but only some eyeliner and kajal.  I wanted to experiment with mascara and so I wanted a good makeup remover to remove traces of makeup from my eye.

I was on a lookout and I stumbled on Natio eye makeup remover and thought why not give it a try. Plus it says aromatherapy and I like things with good aroma 😀

Price: Rs 655 for 75 ml

What it claims:

A gentle, non-oily lotion with floral extracts of rose and cornflower to thoroughly remove eye make-up, while refreshing and softening the eye contour area. pH balanced to prevent irritation.

Natio Eye Make-up Remover Review

It comes in a white opaque packaging which faintly shows the amount of product left in the bottle. It has a nozzle at the top which is protected by a tight cap. I like the sturdy packaging. The cap fits tightly over the nozzle so one can travel with this without worrying about spillage, as long as you screw the cap tight. The makeup is liquid in consistency (no traces of oil, I checked). Being non oily, it does not leave the skin oily after makeup removal but it does feel tad sticky. The remover is quite good at its job. It removes waterproof eyeliner and kajal like a breeze. However, it doesnot remove mascara that efficiently and I always end up breaking my eyelashes. Ouch! Also, this remover stings!! Eye makeup remover should be gentle to the eyes in case some of it gets inside the eye during removal. But this one stings  if it gets in eye especially if you are going to remove waterline makeup and in-between the lashes traces. It is pricey for the quantity (75 ml).

I tested it on other makeup as well, lip makeup and face makeup. But it does not remove it that effectively. And I don’t complain either, since it is Eye make-up remover.

‘Aromatherapy’ word in its name is misleading – It has a very faint smell and not “aroma”. It smells very faintly of botanical extracts. I was not happy at its fragrance as I was expecting a good aroma experience.

Overall, this is a good remover as long as it doesnot get inside your eyes. Since I had bought it, I use it for removing eyeliner and occasional eye shadow removal. It is quite good as long you use it on your eyelid area. Also, it does not leave any oily traces. It is bit costly for the quantity it offers and I wont repurchase it mainly because it stings!

Fabindia Lavender Cleansing Milk Review

fabindia cleansing milk-1a

Hello girlies

I was never a skin care enthusiast. My skin care routine was limited to only moisturizing and that too in the morning. But the pigmentation spots on cheeks and the occasional under eye dark circles have made me conscious of my skin.

This is my first cleansing milk and let’s see how it fared against my dry skin.

What it claims?

A gentle cleansing milk with grapeseed oil and lavender essential oil that penetrates deep to cleanse and moisturize your skin giving it a healthy glow.

Key Ingredients

fabindia cleansing milk-10

Directions for use

It says to apply on cotton swab and cleanse in an upward direction, but I apply it directly on my face in circular motion. I remove it with a cotton swab or a damp sponge and finally wash off with water.

It comes in a see through plastic bottle with flip open cap. The packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly. The quantity is sufficient and will last me many months.

fabindia cleansing milk-3

Consistency is creamy but little on runny side, which I am totally comfortable with as it helps in easy application on the face.

This is a gentle cleanser and I do not expect it to remove stubborn waterproof eye makeup. Since I myself do not use any makeup except a kajal/eyeliner, I do not have issues regarding this. I only use it to remove grime and dirt from my face at the end of  day, for which it does a good job. (Yay!)

I do not use it to remove kajal/eyeliner but even if it accidentally gets into my eyes, it does not sting. (Yay!)

It  has a mild smell of lavender which lingers on for some time after which it fades. I like the smell but some sensitive-nosed people may not like it.

It does not dry my skin but I follow it with moisturizer anyway.

I tested this on my Maybelline gel eyeliner and some of my mom’s lipsticks.

It removed the lipsticks easily in one swipe but even after many swipes and tugging hard, it could not remove the eyeliner completely.

It removes eye shadows easily too.

fabindia cleansing milk-2

In a nutshell:

  • Cleanses the face effectively. Removes grime and dirt off my face completely
  • Price is reasonable for the quantity offered
  • Does not sting the eyes
  • Does not dry the skin and makes it supple & smooth
  • Consistency is creamy but slightly runny
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Mild smell but may bother some who like their products completely fragrance free
  • This is a gentle cleanser. Does not remove waterproof eye makeup.
  • May not suit oily skin people
  • Easily available

Overall Verdict:    B+
