Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish : Party Lights 118 ~ Swatch & Review

Every girl must own a few glitter polish to glamour up the nails every now and then, and Maybelline has some amazing glitter nailpolish selection. Maybelline launched Party Girl collection last year in their Colorshow range. This range has gorgeous glitter shades with different color palette. I have already reviewed two shades of this range before : Tequila Sunrise (1st in pic above) and Fireworks (3rd in pic above). In this post I am reviewing another beautiful shade: Party Lights 118

Price: Rs 175 for 6 ml

Party Lights 118 is a beautiful silverish purple color nail polish with purple hexagonals and glitter suspended in a purple baseThe nailpolish has silver shimmer which gives this naipolish a beautiful silverish sheen making it look like foil nailpolish. This nail polish is loaded with the glitters which remain suspended and does not settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The glitter does not tug and the nail polish settles into a smooth finish. The purple glitter and hexagonals doesnot look stark against the base color like in other shades of this range. Instead, it gives a beautiful diffused shimmer to this shade.

The packaging is standard packaging of their Colorshow nailpolish. It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with black cap. The shade name is engraved on top of the cap. The brush is decent and picks enough nailpolish for one coat. It takes 2-3 coats for full color intensity as one coat is slightly sheer.

Party Lights 118 being glitter nailpolish, its removal can be quite a pain, especially if you layer this polish a lot. You can remove such glitter polishes easily using the method I use HERE

The tip wear/chipping starts after 3-4 days, which is quite okay, as I don’t expect these polish to be super long lasting.

Maybelline has another purple glitter nail polish from their Glitter Mania range. You can check the swatches HERE

Overall, this is a beautiful purple glitter nailpolish with a silverish sheen. This nailpolish is loaded with glitter and 2-3 coats give full coverage. This is a beautiful color to glamour up the nails. I will probably repurchase this when this bottle gets over.

xoxo, Blossom

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser : Review

I love Forest Essentials products  and in this post I am reviewing an amazing staple product in my skincare routine- Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser.

I have reviewed some other amazing Forest Essentials product HERE

Forest Essentials Delicate Facial cleanser comes in two variants: Kashmiri Saffron & Neem and Mashobra Honey, Lemon & Rosewater . I have tried both the facewash in their smaller packaging (50ml) and I liked Kashmiri Saffron more so I bought a full size product.

Price:    Rs 1075 for 200ml

                Rs 295 for 50 ml

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser review

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Face Cleanser comes in two packaging: 50 ml and 200 ml. I bought the 50 ml one before buying the full sized product. The 200 ml packaging comes in a big rectangular plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The bottle is transparent so the amount of product left in the bottle is visible. The pump dispenser has a cap making it spill proof and travel friendly.

Forest Essentials ace in the packaging department. Half of the ‘luxurious’ feel is because of the packaging only. The FE bag they give you after billing and packaging at the store smells divine. They spritz some perfume in it and add some flower petals. The packaging of the products itself is luxurious (how many lip balms come with a mirror, for example? Read about the lip balm HERE)

The fragrance of this facewash is amazing. It smells luxurious and exotic, giving a spa-like feeling. It smells refreshingly of saffron and rose water which lifts your mood instantly, feeling soothing and relaxing.

This is an amber colored gel facewash which does not lather up much but cleanses the face effectively. The consistency is runny and there is no problem in dispensing the product from the pump. It feels moisturizing and does not make the skin excessively dry. This is a gentle facewash without the harsh effects of chemicals. The skin feels soft, smooth and supple after washing. But I would not recommend this to people with excessively oily skin.

Even though this is an expensive product but it lasts really long. I use 2 pumps each in morning and evening and the bottle is only half empty after 3 months! I am sure it will easily last 6 months, or more.

Forest Essentials products are cruelty free and doesnot contain parabens.

I dropped the bottle before clicking the picture, hence the bubbles

Overall, Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem face cleanser is a gentle, gel based cleanser which cleans the face effectively leaving a moisturizing feel to the skin. The skin feels soft and supple. The fragrance is lovely and the packaging feels luxurious. Even though it is pricey but it will easily last 6 months, or even more. Skip this facewash only if you want a squeaky clean finish, are acne prone and oily skinned. Otherwise, this is an amazing facewash which will work best for dry/combination skin type.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nail enamel: Noir Emerald ~ Review & Swatch

I have tried Avon nailpolish for the first time and I am reviewing a gorgeous shade from the Nailwear Pro+ range: Noir Emerald in this post.

Review of more shades will be coming soon.

Price: Rs 149

Availability:

Avon products can be bought from Avon representatives. You can also buy it online from Amazon/Nykaa/Purplle etc.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nail enamel Noir Emerald review

I fell in love with this nailpolish as soon as I held this shade in my hand. This is one GORGEOUS color to have in your collection. And I cannot emphasise the word gorgeous enough! Noir Emerald is a beautiful darkened emerald color with green microshimmer. It looks more shimmery in the bottle than it actual is. I would have liked if the shade on nails was exactly as how it looks in the bottle. It is tad dark and less shimmery on the nails. This is blackish- emerald color (exactly as the name). But nevertheless, this is still a beautiful color and it is going to be my staple in coming months. This makes a gorgeous Fall color.

For more Fall colors check HERE, HERE

Avon Nailwear Pro+ nail enamel comes in a rectangular short packaging with shade name written on the front. The brush is decent, not too great, not too bad and covers the nail in two strokes. Noir emerald shade is sheer in one coat and it takes 2-3 coats to build the full color. It doesnot take too long to dry but it not super quick drying either. If you apply thin coats, the nailpolish dries quickly.

Removal is easy and quick with a good nailpolish remover and the shade didn’t stain my nails

This wears for 3 days on my nails after which it starts to chip. You can prolong the wear time by applying a top coat.

Overall, if you love dark colors definitely check this shade. This is one gorgeous dark-emerald color with beautiful shimmer. It wears for 3 days but you can prolong the wear time by applying a top coat. I am impressed with Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nailpolish. It applies well and the shade is really pretty.

Maybelline Superstay Gel Nail Color : Uptown Blue~ Review, Swatch

Maybelline has another range of nailpolish besides its Colorshow range- the Superstay range of nailpolish. This range of nailpolish is supposed to be long wear (as the name says) and give the finish of Gel nails. I have a few shades from this range and in this post I am reviewing a gorgeous pastel blue color – Uptown Blue

Price: Rs 350 for 10 ml

Maybelline Superstay Gel Nail Color 7 days: Uptown Blue Review

Maybelline Superstay Gel nail polish comes in a flat, glass packaging with white cap. The shade name is stickered on the top and the list of ingredients is at the back in peel off sticker form. Formula wise, these nailpolish are amazingly pigmented and creamy with glossy, plump finish. These are fast drying nailpolish. Apart from the formula, the next impressive thing about this nailpolish is the brush. The flat, wide, U-curve brush makes the application breezy and less prone to error, especially around cuticles. One coat is sufficient for full pigmentation if you apply carefully, but I have applied two coats in the swatches below.

Uptown Blue is a gorgeous surf blue color. You can call it pastel blue, or sky blue, but is more brighter and vibrant than either. I LOVE pastel colors and I love Blue so I had to but this shade (along with another pink color, shown in pic above) as soon as I spotted this at the Maybelline counters.

Now coming to the Superstay claim, this nailpolish does stick around for 5-6 days with minor tip wear, but I dont apply top coat and you can easily prolong the wear time by applying a top coat. I am a nailpolish hoarder and I know which nailpolish has better stay and which doesn’t. This nailpolish definitely is a win in long stay department.

Even though the price is more than the Colorshow range, so is the quality of this nailpolish. The higher price is totally justified. You will feel the difference between the two range as soon as you start to apply these.

Maybelline Superstay Gel nail color in shade Uptown Blue is VERY similar to the Maybelline Colorshow nailpolish in shade Blueberry Ice. If you are looking for a dupe, this is it. Even though they look similar, Uptown Blue is brighter than Blueberry Ice, even though it is not shown properly in pic below. And formula is any day better than the Colorshow one.

Overall, Maybelline Superstay Gel nail color in shade Uptown Blue is a beautiful surf blue color, (brighter than sky blue), the gorgeous vibrant pastel color making it ideal as spring/summer shade. The formula is creamy and highly pigmented. The wide, U-shaped brush makes the application incredibly easy. These are long lasting nailpolish and will last for 5-6 days at least if you wear it with a top coat. The formula is so nice that I have already bought a couple of more shades from this range. If you like such vibrant, pastel shades then definitely check this shade out, you will not be disappointed!

Maybelline colorshow Bright Matte nailpolish: Lively Rose ~ Swatch & Review

Maybelline has just launched a new range in their Colorshow nail polish: Bright Mattes collection. There are 6 shades in this range, all in the shades of red family- orange, red and pink. I have 2 shades with me and I have already reviewed the shade Peppy Pink earlier.  Here I am reviewing a beautiful bright red shade:  Lively Rose.

Price: Rs 175

Maybelline Colorshow Bright Matte Lively Rose review

Maybelline Bright Matte collection comes in same packaging as the Colorshow range except that the bottle is frosted which looks chic. The shade name is stickered on the top and it looks a bit cheap as compared to other colorshow range which shade name engraved on the cap. The brush is short but okay,  though I would have liked a broader brush for matte collection, as short/thin brush leads to streaking which is more prominent in matte finish.

Lively Rose is a gorgeous coral-red  color with beautiful matte finish. The nailpolish is quite pigmented and one coat is sufficient to bring out the full color, still I have applied two coats in the swatches below. This is a bright, summery color and if you are looking for a bright orangish-red color, definitely check this shade out. This shade would suit all skin tones. The matte effect lasts for 2 days and it turns to normal finish after that. Matte nailpolish tends to chip early and I started to see tip wear, especially on my right (dominant) hand starting next day itself. On left hand, it started a bit late. Since the brush is thin, it led to streaking. But interestingly, it became normal as the matte effect started to fade after few days. Also, the color starts to deepen as the matte effect fades.

This range has only 6 colors, all in the shades of red family. I would have loved to see a wider spectrum of colors in this range. Even though the name says ‘Bright’, the range does not have bright colors except one or two (Lively Rose shade being one of them)

Overall this is a beautiful bright coral-red color and if you want to experiment with matte finish, definitely check this shade. Matte nailpolish tend to chip fast so this is not a long wearing nailpolish. Also, the shade range is narrow and covers only orange, pink and red. It would have been nice if it covered more shades.

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli SPF 25 : Review

Forest Essentials is my favourite brand for skin care and I love LOVE the products. One whiff of the products and it takes you to heaven! Even the fragrance inside/around the store is irresistible. I have already reviewed Forest Essentials lip balm HERE and I am reviewing another holy grail product from the brand in this post- Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli.

This Light Day Lotion is a silky light weight lotion that steeps into the skin easily leaving it soft and smooth with a non-greasy feel. It has an SPF 25 due to Yasada Bhasma, which is a natural sunscreen and an herb infused derivative offering long-lasting protection from the harsh rays of the sun leaving skin supple, toned and fresh.

Pure Lavender water, which is therapeutic and calming, nourishing Oat kernel extract and stimulating Neroli oil combined with zinc, known for its healing and regenerative qualities, to firm and clarify the skin. It also contains Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha and Gokharu along with Almond, Wheat germ and Olive oils, which not only provide nourishment but also prevent the skin from the damaging effect of free radicals.

Price: Rs 1750 for 40ml

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli SPF 25 Review

FE Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli comes in golden square shaped, plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The packaging itself screams luxury and prettifies your vanity. It comes in pump packaging with a golden lid. The bottle is sturdy, light weight and easy to travel with. However, the packaging is opaque which doesnot let you know how much product is left inside the bottle.

The texture of this lotion looks thick in consistency but it blends like a dream. One pump is sufficient for entire face. It is highly emollient and blends easily. It is non greasy and gives a matte finish making it perfect for summers. It absorbs quickly and even though it contains SPF 25, it does not leave any white cast behind. Forest Essentials Neroli and Lavender day lotion smells divine. It has a soothing fragrance of lavender. But unfortunately (fortunately for sensitive noses) the fragrance doesnot linger for long. This lotion feels just perfect, neither too heavy or nor too light for my combination skin in summers. However, I will not be using this in winters when my skin gets excessively dry.

Forest Essentials Light Day Lotion Lavender & Neroli contain an SPF of 25 which is always an added benefit. But you should always apply additional layer of sunscreen, preferably of higher SPF when stepping out in sun.

The only downside of this amazing product is its price. This is an expensive product but one bottle will easily last an entire season as only a tiny quantity is required every time (1 pump is sufficient for face).

Forest Essentials products are cruelty free and does not contain parabens

Overall, I will highly recommended Forest Essentials Day lotion Lavender and Neroli for oily skin/ combination skinned beauty. This product is perfect for summer months. This lotion smells heavenly and blends like a dream. It mattifies the skin and does not feel heavy. Added SPF is always a benefit. However, this is expensive. But one bottle will easily last 3 months at least. I will definitely repurchase this when it gets over.

Maybelline Colorshow Bright Matte Peppy Pink review

Other colorshow range has shade name engraved on the cap. The brush is short but okay,  though I would have liked a broader brush for matte collection, as short/thin brush leads to streaking which is more prominent in matte finish.

Peppy Pink is a warm toned dark pink color with beautiful matte finish. The nailpolish is quite pigmented and one coat is sufficient to bring out the full color, still I have applied two coats in the swatches below. The matte effect lasts for 2 days and it turns to normal finish after that. Matte nailpolish tend to chip early and I started to see tip wear, especially on my right (dominant) hand starting next day itself. On left hand, it started a bit late.
