Kiko Milano Haul

This haul post from Kiko Milano was loooong overdue and some of the purchases were done last year when the store first opened in Delhi.

Kiko Milano store in Delhi is pretty big (compared to other makeup stores) with a HUGE range of makeup, be it lipsticks or nailpolish or eye makeup or skincare. The best thing about the store is that almost all the makeup has testers, even the nailpolish! Indian brands do not keep testers for nailpolish (except Chambor).  The price range for almost all the makeup is wide, starting from affordable to mid-expensive. Plus, the stores in India are in line with the new launches internationally.

So here are the things I picked:

  • Kiko Nail lacquer:  This is the first section I check out when I visit the store. The wide selection of colors look gorgeous on the display. Plus tester for every shade meant I HAD to buy a couple of these. And I obviously could not restrain myself 😛 The shades I picked are: 521, 479, 493, 530, 497, 298, 504, 277, 226, 335, 261, 357. You can check swatch of some of the shades I have worn on my Instagram. Full fledged reviews are coming soon.
  • Kiko Power Pro Nail Lacquer in shade 073
  • Kiko Glitter Metal Nail Lacquer in shade 002
  • Kiko Perfect Gel Duo (Nail lacquer+ top coat) shade 671
  • Kiko Glossamer Emotion Lipstick shade 111
  • Kiko Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick shade 311
  • Kiko Longwear Lasting Color Lip marker (not in pic): shade 105
  • Kiko Smart Eye pencil  (not in pic) shade 800

Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil: Coalmine ~ Review and Swatch

Colorbar I-glide eyeliners are my all time favorite. If you have to choose only one eyeliner among all the different brands, choose this one. Colorbar I-glide eyeliners are amazing.  This is the third shade I own and I have already reviewed two shades from the range in THIS post.:

Jaded (most gorgeous jewel toned green) and

Cocobar (dark brown)

In this post I am reviewing the shade Coalmine 009.

Price: Rs 550 for 1.1 g

Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil: Coalmine Review

Colorbar I-glide eyeliner pencils come in a silver cardboard packaging containing all details. The eyeliner pencil is made of silver colored plastic with color coded ends and shade name engraved along the side. The cap of the pencil shuts tight. The color coded ends make it easier to identify the shade if you have multiple shades. This is a sharpenable eyelinerand not retractable, which leads to product wastage whenever you sharpen it, and being made of plastic adds to even more wastage! Also, these are not meant to be applied on waterline.

The formula of these eyeliner pencils is amazing. They are super creamy and pigmented and deliver full color in one swipe itself. The texture is super smooth and glides easily on the eyelids. Once set, the eyeliner is smudge proof and has excellent staying power (best one I have tried so far). It does not budge at all (even with light rubbing of eyes). It stays put until removed by an oil based remover.

Colorbar I-glide eyeliner in shade Coalmine is a beautiful dark grey (almost black) color loaded with silver shimmer. This color looks super pretty when worn in parties. Being a shimmer eyeliner, this is not meant for office wear but looks super pretty when worn otherwise. The shimmer is very fine and not glittery at all, giving a beautiful dimension to the overall color.

Coalmine (and Jaded) shade is a repurchase. I usually don’t buy same shades from same brand twice unless I really really like it but this shade is so gorgeous that I had to purchase it again, and will continue doing so till it gets discontinued 😛

Colorbar I-glide eyeliner come in 15 shades with different finish, and each shade suits Indian skin tone perfectly.

Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencils are super smooth and very pigmented eyeliners. It gives full color in one stroke itself. However, being sharpenable pencils, these lead to product wastage. Also, these cannot be applied to waterline. Coamine is a beautiful dark grey color with silver shimmer. This shade is perfect for parties and evening wear. Once set, this eyeliner does not budge AT ALL. These eyeliner come in a variety of shades (15 in total) and finish, and you must check it out at the counters. You will not regret buying these, I can guarantee.

XOXO, Blossom 🙂

Avon Metallic Effects Nail Enamel : Jade Reflection ~ Review & Swatch

I am impressed with Avon nailpolish especially the Metallic range which has some really beautiful colors. I have reviewed the shade Icy Purple (right one in pic above) and a gorgeous emerald color Noir Emerald (centre in pic) and here I am reviewing shade Jade Reflection.

Price: Rs 249 for 8 ml

Avon Metallic Effects Nail Enamel Jade Reflection review

Avon Metallic effects nail enamel comes in rectangular packaging with shade name written on the front. The brush is short and decent, not too bad not too great either. The straight tip makes the application messy around the cuticles. I always prefer rounded brush (like in THIS nailpolish).

Jade Reflection is a beautiful moss green color with a metallic finish.  The formula is rich and creamy. The consistency is great, neither thick nor thin. The pigmentation is excellent and gives full opacity in one coat. I have still applied two coats in the swatches below. Like any other metallic polishes, the brush strokes are visible so apply it carefully and neatly. This nail polish dries quickly.

This is not very long lasting nail polish just like many metallic nailpolish. Minor tip wear starts next day itself if you don’t wear a topcoat. Also, the shine tends to dull after 2-3 days. Proper chipping sets in after 4-5 days.

Overall, Avon Metallic effects nail enamel in shade Jade Reflection is a beautiful metallic moss green color. The pigmentation is impressive and 1 coat goes fully opaque. However, the brush strokes are visible so you need to apply it carefully. It dries quickly and shine stays put for 2-3 days after which it starts to dull. The only drawback I could find is that these are not long lasting. But an additional top coat can always prolong the wear time. I am in love with the unique color and you should check this out if you love metallic nail colors.

Colorbar Cocktail 3D Matte lipstick ~ Cosmopolitan : Review & Swatch

Colorbar launched 3D Matte range sometime ago and I bought the shade Cosmopolitan. I bought this lipstick purely on the insistence of SA and I donot regret it. This range was launched with 4 shades – African Brew, Cosmopolitan, Screw driver and Bloody Marie

Price: Rs 750 for 3.5 g

Colorbar Cocktail 3D Matte Lipstick Cosmopolitan Review

Colorbar 3D Matte lipsticks come in attractive orange cardboard packaging with cute pop art. The lipstick  is long and silver colored. The cap shuts tight with a click so there is no chance of cap coming off during travel. The shade name is sticker-ed at the bottom. The bullet is long and tip is slightly slanted. The pigmentation is amazing with full opaque coverage in one swipe itself. The name says 3D Matte (I don’t know what that means) but this is actually a creamy lipstick with glossy finish. It does not go matte and remains glossy. This makes it easy to transfer on cups etc. This lipstick stays on for 3-4 hours after which it fades into a beautiful pink stain. The color of stain left behind is so intense that it can be confused with a full fledged lipstick only.

Cosmopolitan is a bright and super vibrant pink color with warm tones. It gives an instant pop of color to your overall makeup. This will suit mostly fair to medium skin tones and it may look too bright on dusky skin. Even though this is a creamy lipstick and I am in matte lipstick phase right now, I donot regret buying this one bit and I reach out to apply this lipstick very often. Cosmopolitan is  a gorgeous summery shade.

However, Cocktail 3 D Matte range is bit pricey to be honest and one can find similar shades in other brands with lower price tag.

Maybelline Colorshow Party Girl nailpolish in shade Rock the Night applied on nails

Overall, Colorbar Cocktail 3D Matte lipstick is neither 3 D, nor matte but it is a creamy and glossy lipstick. The pigmentation is amazing giving full coverage in one swipe. Being glossy it transfers to cups etc easily. It lasts for 3-4 hours before fading to an intense pink stain. Cosmopolitan 002 shade is vibrant pink color with warm tones which instantly adds pop of color to the overall makeup. The shade will suit fair to medium skin tones. However, the lipstick range is bit expensive and similar shades can be found in other brands.

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo & Conditioner Review

This is my first purchase from the ‘Hair’ section of The Body Shop. I sniffed this product in one of my impromptu visits to the store and I HAD to buy it. Read how it fared on my thin, wavy and frizz prone hair.

Price: Rs 795 for 250 ml (each for shampoo and conditioner)

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner Review

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner come in a round bottle with black flip open cap. The bottle is transparent which allows to look at the product left in the bottle. The cap shuts tight and the packaging is spill proof and travel friendly.

The fragrance is insane! It smells amazingly of banana. Like a banana dessert.  If only the product itself was as good as the fragrance.

The shampoo is pearly yellow in color and slightly runny in texture. It lathers well and cleanses hair well. It is parabens and sulphates free and not tested on animals. However, it makes my hair very dry and more prone to tangles which led to massive hairfall, especially while shampooing. I disliked the shampoo so much that I was so relieved when I finished the bottle!

The conditioner is more bright yellow in color and slightly thick in consistency. The thick consistency of the conditioner makes it a pain to squeeze when the bottle starts getting half empty. For this purpose, I used to store the bottle upside down so it can be squeezed out easily.  It spreads easily and does its job decently. It did make the hair a little better after shampoo, still it didn’t provide enough to make my hair silky smooth (like THIS conditioner did). The conditioner is still better than the shampoo but I would still skip repurchasing it, no matter how delicious it smells.

Overall, The Body Shop Banana shampoo and conditioner are okay but not great for my hair type- thin, wavy, frizz prone. It may work for other hair types though. The shampoo cleanses well but makes my hair very dry and tangle prone. Banana conditioner is still better than the shampoo but it doesnt make my hair silky smooth and I still feel the need to apply an additional leave on conditioner/serum on my hair. The only good thing I could find with The Body Shop Banana range is that it is parabens and sulphates free. Also, it smells heavenly and so delicious that you could eat it. Don’t though! 😀
